diy with fake flowers

Faa, on February 11, 2020 at 7:14 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

Hello everyone!

I´m getting married on June 2020 and i´m starting to do my diy cause my wedding will be a huge DIY project.

My fianceé found a nice idea that goes very well with our theme. (photo down below)

We decided to make it with fake flowers because... (no idea) And i´m already doing them, I simply love the way they look, but i´m a little scared of what our guess may think, like it is a cheap idea, looks taky and so on and so fort.

I will appreciate your opinions on this one.

I think you did amazing 🖤 love fake flowers, but I have always thought that fake greenery was a little too fake/plastic looking. That just my opinion tho. I still think this idea is so cute!

Thank you so much! I also thought about it too. Also, my fianceé choose the "greenery" himself and i thought it was really cute. I just don´t want it to look too trashy, the whole table will have a lot more green.

I think the idea is cute, but I do think it looks a little cheap to give your guests sprigs of fake greenery and in your photo it looks very fake. Not to mention this is super wasteful.

Those look really good. Nice and simple and clean looking. My mom is making our flowers from coffee filters so I get the DIY thing. I think it looks better than real flowers. And I like that they wont wilt and can be reused for other things later.

I love it! Silk flowers have come a very long way and they are bendable and you can create ahead of time! I found that making arrangements was very therapeutic!
Congrats and have fun with it!!!! Lots of inspiration on Pinterest

I think it looks cute! I'm doing a lot of of DIY, too. And honestly, if anyone really has a problem with you not spending hundreds of dollars on real flowers, then they probably don't deserve to even be at your wedding 🤷

I love this concept so much, but I’d look at real greenery or herbs (rosemary) to create this look on an affordable budget but kick up the look (and feeling) with live greenery.

With the flash it looks kinda of cheap but without it looks fine. Also what's the point of it if people are just going to have them laying around?

If they are really important to you, they are fine, but I agree with others that it is quite obvious they are fake. I agree with pp that if you want to do this, I'd look at inexpensive live-plant options, and I think Rosemary or Lavender sprigs would be wonderful and SMELL amazing (and should be pretty inexpensive -- you could potentially buy a couple plants now and grown them yourself). Also, like Onya pointed out, keep in mind that as soon as guests sit down and take their napkin and flatware out, the table is going to be littered with the strings and plastic sprigs. The sprig isn't something I'd likely think, "I'm going to put that in my purse because I want to take it home." So, during the majority of the time the guests will actually be at the tables, these won't have the potentially positive aspect of adding to the decor; instead, they will be trash/clutter on the table.

It´s true with all the trash and them "flaying around" once the napkins are being used Smiley smile Still, our wedding will be low budget (because we are having a 2nd wedding, a destination one next year) and the place we already booked is not that festive-wedding vibe, so we want to make it as much as pretty as can be with little details but im not very sure about them. Smiley heart thanks for the opinions, I appreciate them.
