diy Wine and Beer Open Bar

Ya Peng , on November 18, 2019 at 7:51 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7

Hi al!

I'm planning on supplying my own wine and beer for my wedding to cut down on cost. Is anyone else doing this? If so, how do you plan on having all that wine and beer transported to the venue?

Our friends did a "stock the bar" party in lieu of a wedding shower, use cardboard wine boxes to transport (usually extras available at trader Joe's).

My husband dropped it off the morning of. We couldn’t store it there over night.

We stored our wine bottles in cardboard boxes that could be carried easily into the venue. As for beer and cider we did two half kegs from Total Wine and More. It seemed a lot easier than dealing with individual cans/bottles and we were able to use a van to pick them up the morning of the event.

We were allowed to bring our stuff the night before to the venue and store in their closet space. We went the route where we let each table have their own alcohol. So we put some bottles per table. In my culture it's really common.

Depending on if you are buying your alcohol. Some places will deliver it to your venue.

We kept picking up cases of beer and wine from Costco and Wine Depot, especially when the brands we wanted went on sale. We brought everything to the venue ourselves right in the cases they came in. We save those cases for any leftovers after the wedding and brought it back home.
