diy Photo Booth / Backdrop

Emma, on January 11, 2020 at 10:01 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 5

My photographer was helping me with a day of timeline and suggested a photo booth to entertain guests. As we are less than 100 days out and did not budget for a photo booth she suggested that we set up a little DIY photo station with an instant camera (which we already have).

I was already thinking about making some sort of a cute backdrop for one of the walls anyway so maybe we can set up the photo booth there?

Can I see ideas you have or photo booths and backdrops that you DIY'd? Any tips or suggestions are welcome too!

I'm considering doing one like this with PVC pipes and spray painting them gold. I could DIY the giant polaroid frame, but i know they also sell them on etsy. FH and I have talked about having 2 photo op areas. 1 like this one for smaller groups and a bigger area somewhere else for big groups. My barn venue has a lot of space and extra hay bales and stuff for it. They said couples have things like that all the time.

I love "selfie stations" so much more than a full on photobooth (at least the way the term is currently used, for a background with gimmicky props... I actually love old fashioned photo booths that you cram into and give you a film strip of photos at the end).

I just purchased some curtain lights (think little string lights dangling from a leading wire) and am thinking of suspending them in front of a natural backdrop or just hanging them from a nice area of wall space.
