diy invitations!

I need help! We are debating making our own invitations but the thought of the task intimidates me. 😬 I would love photos of your invitations and advice on paper and printing. If you didn’t make your own and would recommend a company I would love to hear those as well! Thanks all.

I made my own! I used 12 x 12 card stock paper from Hobby Lobby. I had to cut it down and used a crease maker (I forgot what it’s called) to fold it into thirds. Then I used shimmery paper for the actual invite. I printed them from Office Depot. On the outside of the card stock I used glittery paper and cut into 1 inch strips. I used the same paper behind the actual invite like as a layer. Then I inserted vellum paper with the details such as registry and our hashtag. Then I sealed it with a wax seal (not pictured) It was a big task!diy invitations! 1

They’re a little bit different from the traditional invites though.

I made my own but I basically went on greetingsisland and they have free invite templates so I just printed it off on card stock and cut it myself and bought envelopes on amazon

I made mine on Microsoft word and printed them out on normal paper and then glued them on to a slightly larger piece of colored card stock.

I'm in the process of making my own. I bought all of my envelopes through a company that was going out of business for $30. (250 A1 and 250 A7)

I purchased a bunch of different paper samples from LCI paper to test it with the printer I have at home. I found that the 100lb linen paper looked the nicest. Anything over 110lb seemed to have problems printing. The texture of linen looked most professional in my opinion. Here's a link! I spent $63 for 125 of the invitation cards and 125 RSVP cards. https://www.lcipaper.com/a7-flat-lci-linen-100lb-blank-cards-natural-white/pd/LCLN7C100-NAT.html

I purchased an Etsy template for the envelopes and I'll be buying a template for printing the invites as well. I chose to do plain black and white because it uses less ink and we're going for simple anyway. https://www.etsy.com/listing/778862713/envelope-address-template-elegant-script?ref=notif_psffl

I bought a custom wax seal from aliexpress to fancy it up! There are so many designs to choose from. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32343987571.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.25014c4dUD69eM

I also had some pretty plain heavy cardstock to print a map and our website on. The only other thing I need to get is some chiffon ribbon to tie it all together. We're inviting 248 people which is 115 invitations. I'll spend around $115 total for all of this. (We already had ink in the printer). I hope this helps!
