diy Hanging Wisteria from Chandelier

Corrin, on September 11, 2020 at 1:46 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 6

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to hang artificial wisteria from the chandeliers at my venue (See inspo pic 1 of the chandelier with real wisteria). The florists I talked with want to charge me $150 per chandelier (not including labor prices) and there are 10, so it's not really budget friendly. I was able to get a good deal on artificial wisteria though so I figured I could DIY it.

My question is: is there any way to hang the wisteria efficiently? I feel like hanging them one by one would take ages (especially at the end of the night when we're packing up), but the chandelier itself is so weird that I cant just string them together and lay them on it. See pic 2 of the chandelier without anything on it.

Any suggestions or am I doomed to hang them one by one?

Thanks for all your help Smiley heart

Could you maybe do a few together and hang them that way? It looks like stringing three together would still work. You’d just have to adjust it on each side.

Do you have a venue coordinator? If so, check with them first about hanging decorations. They may be able to do it for you. For my venue, I have to go through my venue coordinator about hanging decor from the ceiling, so to not damage anything there (historical building) or injure myself (could be a liability).

@Marabeth - yeah thankfully the artificial ones I can put together to bunch ahead of time!

@Kimistar - great idea Smiley laugh I'll know my venue coordinator will only help set up/tear down the tablescapes, but my day of coordinator might help me!

    Thanks guys (:

I got it off amazon because there was a 20% coupon. 1 Package is more than enough for a chandelier so maybe you only need 1 or two for an arch? Be careful though and only buy one package at a time. If you try to buy multiple at a time, the 20% discount goes away Smiley smile

They look great - you just need to fluff them a bit since they come squished in a package. Here's what they look like with my fiance holding up half of what came in the box:

Also the stems are bendable - takes a little bit of working, but they can twist all around.
