Hi! I am hoping to make flower arrangements and bouquets for my wedding. Does anyone know how to plan this out before the wedding so that they still look fresh? Also wondering if any good websites to order flowers whole sale?

My sister-in-law went to a place that walks you through making your own flowers with the guidance of a florist then you make all of them. She lives in Ohio, but maybe you could find something similar to this. I know she said she saved a lot of money and she was able to store the flowers there until the wedding. She got married on a Saturday and they went and did the flowers the Thursday prior and they looked really fresh.

I used FiftyFlowers.com and was really happy with them.
The key is all in timing , and proper storage. FiftyFlowers was good about providing info for both of those things. When ordering, I gave my event date and picked a delivery date and they reached out and said that actually for one of the types of flowers that I ordered, they recommended they be delivered a day earlier , so I okayed the change and they were delivered in 2 batches— and they were right! The ones that came earlier (I think Wednesday arrival for Saturday wedding) were in perfect shape for Saturday. The rest arrived on Thurs.

They arrive dormant — sleepy as FF called it Smiley winking — abs they gave instructions on how to “wake them up” — basically stem-trimming and putting them in clean, fresh water in buckets where they had ample room to spread out. Have a nice climate controlled place to store them was important too.
So, my flowers arrived wed & thurs, prepped immediately , and then left to “wake up” — and on Friday I assembled everything, made sure they were stored well and had water, and they looked great on Saturday. It was *definitely* a time consuming process — the best timing tips i have is: make sure to have some help/ extra hands . And make sure everything else is taken care of in advance (maybe easier said than done haha), so you can fully focus on flowers at the last minute and not be stressing other thin gas— theyre the most time sensitive , so anything that can be crossed off the to do list earlier should be!

I am doing them myself! I had a consultation with Fifty Flowers and they were so helpful. I spoke with a lady on the phone, sent her photos of my vision, told her what I needed them for (8 bouquets, 25 table arrangements, 14 boutonnieres, etc), and gave her a budget. Together, we went through the website and picked flowers based on what I wanted. If for some reason, one of the flowers I liked was really pricey, she found a similar alternative for cheaper. At the end she makes you a "recipe" that shows exactly what you need to order and instructions on what to put in each arrangement. For example, for a bouquet I need 12 roses, 4 stems of greenery, 4 blue thistles, etc. I ended up price checking some of the more common flowers, like white roses, on Costcos website and they were much cheaper there. So I'm doing a mix. The common ones will come from Costco and the more unique ones will come from FF. She'll also give you a 10% off coupon during the consultation.
