diy Flowers

Brittany, on October 1, 2019 at 4:15 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

I saw a bouquet made of fabric flowers and it was beautiful but expensive. Has anyone ever made their own flowers? If so how did you learn and did it come out like you planned?

I haven’t done mine yet but I found a few tutorials on YouTube. Aldis usually has cheap fresh flowers so I plan on getting some from there to practice. If you’re using fake flowers you can practice as much as you need! Check out some YouTube tutorials on wedding bouquets. Doesn’t seem too hard.

Making the actual individual flowers? Or, just arranging flowers in a bouquet?

I tried to make fabric flowers and honestly it was an epic fail lol! After a couple attempts 1 did come out nice, but I decided it would’ve been too much work I wasn’t willing to do in the long run. I wound up making brooch bouquets instead

    Hey Brittany!!

That sounds like quite the DIY project! Are you generally a crafty person?

You can definitely find some tutorials on YouTube on how to make your own fabric flowers. The good news is, you still have plenty of time to practice and perfect it!

Ha ha I know, it is a big project to take on. I am sorta crafty and I like doing crafts. Guess I can always try some now and if it doesn't come out right order some.

How did you make your brooch bouquets? Did you use a Styrofoam ball and pin them in?

Ahh, okay. I thought so. I am using lings moment roses and gardenias, but not making my own actual flowers. You can also explore sola flowers - I saw a ton of DIY for the individual flowers when deciding for myself. Good luck!

Yes... I used a 5 1/2 inch ball, covered it in lace fabric (just in case of any spacing between brooches), and put hot glue on the pin and stuck into the ball👍🏽

Exactly!! You will be able to tell after a few tries whether you are getting the hang of it, or if it's totally beyond your skillset! I thin you'll be able to do it though!!

I'd love to see how your trials come out!
