diy Flowers?

Kaitlyn, on July 16, 2019 at 9:14 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

I'm thinking of DIYing our flowers, really only having 5 bouquets and 5 boutonnieres, maybe a corsage or two for my FMIL, grandma, great aunt.

Did anyone else DIY this? How did you go about it? Did you use fresh flowers or fake? I need ideas!

I am DIYing flowers!! I am doing a mix of faux and real. Our decorations, boutonnières and flower girls flower crowns are all faux flowers. I also ordered real flowers for our bouquets, and petals for our centerpieces and we plan on putting the bouquets together either Thursday or Friday before the wedding. My family’s weddings in the past have always done DIY flowers and they’re so much easier than people realize, as long as you’re thoughtful about how many you’re going to have to do! You can also recruit help! My family weddings have always been a group effort. I was the MOH for my sisters wedding a few years ago, and me and my two sisters did all the flowers AND all the cupcakes the day before the wedding! I’ll include some photos of what I’ve done so far! First three are my DIY faux, last two are my bouquet and centerpiece inspo!

These are beautiful! How do you feel the faux compares to the real in terms of looks? I’m not against DIYing and saving some money, plus I know I have my MOH actively looking for things we can DIY and she and her mom would be so good at helping me with this.
But how does it look to mix faux and fresh?

I think it will look fine! I did spend a little more money to get real looking faux flowers, so I’m pretty happy with how the faux ones came out!! Especially the ones that are on the lanterns.

That's what I was thinking of doing, I wanted to make my own bouquet and have my BMs and MOH pick out flowers with me and we have a little arranging party so they all look unique.

Hey Kaitlyn! DIY flowers are totally doable! Have you ever done any flower arranging before?
