My wedding is next May so I definitely have plenty of time to prepare but I am so impatient!
I went to Kroger Wednesday night to get babys breath to do a mock up of my centerpieces. The lady working in the floral department was so incredibly nice. She gave me a fresh bunch of babys breath right out of a box, and since roses were on sale $6 a dozen, I bought two. And she gave me those also fresh out of a box!
I went home, put the flowers in water and went on about my evening before sitting down to work with them.
A month ago, I bought 20 glass terrariums from Target when they clearanced out all of the patio items. I thought the terrariums were so pretty, and different from just a generic hurricane or bowl. I am using them for my centerpieces, and to use as aisle decor.
Last weekend, my FH and I went to ikea for candles and a few other items.
So wednesday evening I took one of my terrariums, one of the candles, some wet floral foam and put together my centerpiece mock up. I figured out that two stems of babys breath look the best, and it is relatively easy to put together! Very excited to put these together with my bridesmaids the night before the wedding.
After I finished my centerpiece mock up, I took the roses and filled several small vases with them. I am refinishing an antique vanity to use as my guestbook table. I want the drawers of the vanity to be overflowing with flowers. Please excuse the look of the vanity...I am in the middle of refinishing it. It was in really rough shape when I bought it.
Overall, I was super happy with my trial run. I felt very confident that I can DIY these flowers for sure. I reached out to FlowerFarm.com for a quote on bulk flowers to use. And two days later, all of my arrangements still look amazing even though they have been just sitting out in the kitchen and sunroom!
