DIY Cigar Bar

Meghan, on February 3, 2017 at 11:55 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9

Hi All!

I have been ok'ed by my venue to set up a cigar bar. I want this to be a surprise for my future hubby. I'm trying to figure out where to start and was wondering if anyone else is doing/done this. I do have his brothers and dad to help. Just looking for some unique ideas or tips. Thank you in advance for any input!

I went to one wedding that did this, and I have an irritation to smells (especially smoke) so it was extremely uncomfortable to have all those smelly people coming back inside.. Just something to keep in mind in case any of your guests have issues with that.

It seemed like they had a bunch of options outside around a table, and people just went and grabbed them.

I wouldn't honestly. I've been at weddings with the; you can't smoke them inside, they smell awful outside so that'll ruin that.

Just get him some fabulous cigars and give them to him that morning.

This is great for the guys. Most places do not allow you to smoke inside so the smell should not be an issue. We are doing this with brandy. I was trying to find a butlers cart but am just going to settle for a dark wood small square table. We are purchasing a small humidor and than will have the brandy in a vintage bottle with matching glasses. Pinterest had some nice ideas too.

I think it's a great idea! I would just make sure it's in a separate area so people who aren't into it, it's not in their face!

I would probably end up leaving if there was a cigar bar. The smell of smoke is one of my asthma triggers. I like @Celia's idea of giving him cigars as a gift.

It will be in an area that is located outside and away from the building. The site has a certain regulation of designated smoking areas. I know people will be smoking cigars regardless of whether I do this or not, just though it would be a nice add on.

I am also doing this for my FH! He is very excited! I believe the package is about $1200 and it includes a professional cigar roller and personalized match boxes!

We originally planned on having a cigar and whiskey bar with a live cigar roller. I would start by looking into shops that sell them and get different kinds. They are typically from $4-$30 each, depending on the kind.
