diy Centerpieces

Arkilia, on December 5, 2018 at 8:27 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 17
Hey ladies,
So we are getting married at a Airplane Museum most of the planes are from WWI and WW2. I'm looking for some diy centerpiece idea's. Besides candles idk really what else to do. Didn't really want to do an aviation theme. Our colors are navy, burgundy, rose gold and ivory. I thought about doing those below but I'm worried it may be to costly with 20 tables,, sweet heart table, sign in table, cake table etc.
Thank you in advance for your help and idea's 😘

I'm sure that you could find these items reasonably priced online at Amazon or Etsy.

I love the first one and it would still be cheaper than a really floral centerpiece! I was going to have various mismatched tea pots that I found but they were a bit pricey! You’re better off buying the same for all the tables in bulk!

I agree with Kenisha. Also check antique stores and thrift stores. Sometimes there are hidden treasures in those stores.

    What a cool venue!
Something like this could be very pretty (in your colors obviously!)

I found a great website Afloral.com They have a lot of centerpiece ideas very reasonably priced. I just bought my silk flower bouquets on the website yesterday. I hope that helps.

What about laterns, you could get for $15-$20 each at Big Lots, Target, Michaels or other places. You could decorate with a few silk flowers if you want in your colors.

I noticed you have a lot of “vintage travel details” in the centerpieces you showed~ I don’t have a specific suggestion, but consider getting some gold spray paint and being a little bit more creative with things you can find for cheap (ie: plastic crystal trays at dollar store + gold spray paint).

S ee if you can find a local thrift store for all the antique-like items. It might be tricky because some thrift stores are starting to pick up the value in these antique items.

for books, check your library and see if they have book sales or even inventory that they’re trying to get rid of

This! I would definitely recommend hitting them up and getting some really unique pieces. Thankfully you have plenty of time to go hunting for the perfect pieces Smiley smile

I love the globe idea since it is at an airplain museum! I would go thrift store shopping and yard saling to find vintage globes. Even if you couldn’t find enough for each table, I think it would be adorable!

Kelsey you totally read my mind but I was actually thinking of making them out of Styrofoam balls or the big plastic balls like the images, but in my colors, then I'm thinking of getting some pictures from the thrift shop to use the frames to place some of the globes in, then I was going get some planes from aliexpress to use on the tables without globes

I love love love the second and third ones. But finding a globe for every table would def get pricey. I agree with most comments here, check out all the thrift and antique stores you can, maybe even estate sales and garage sales. Never know what treasures you'll find. If you're trying to go for a travel theme, maybe vintage postcards could work. You can find those at antique stores. Something like this maybe. diy Centerpieces 9

If you find enough blank ones, maybe you could even get one for every guest and you and your partner can use them as wedding favors and write a quick thank you for coming note on the back!

Sooo cool!!! We're having our wedding at a WW1/WW2 aircraft museum, too!!! I also found those images online, and I'm going to try to recreate some of them! I'm thinking half of the tables will feature model airplanes from Walmart, and the other half with miniature globes. All tables will have books, brass vases/candlestick holders, and some real flowers. The picture below is a mock-up I did the other night:

I'm thinking of adding more small vases around the plane, as well as some tealight candles. Congratulations btw!!!

Those are so cute, we actually went in a different direction. I wanted feathered centerpieces, I'm hoping to alternate with some kind of floral.
