diy centerpieces

Meghan, on October 7, 2020 at 8:25 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 15
Hey everyone!

So after going to the florist my mom and I tried a diy centerpiece. Our wedding is next September and getting mixed reviews from my sisters. They think it looks too wintery. I thought it was okay because I loveeee sparkles in general BUT can also see how it looks like a winter wedding. Also idk if it matters but the venues chairs are gold. Thoughts?
Items are from the store At Home.

I think some florals or greenery would help it look less wintry. Or something more fall themed.

I think it's lovely, but I agree that it is very wintery. Before reading your post, I assumed this was for a winter or Christmas themed wedding.

I have to agree with your sisters, the moment I saw it I thought winter wonderland! If the chairs at the venue or gold, I would probably try to pull that gold color into the centerpieces. Plus, gold is a beautiful color for a fall wedding!

I agree it does look wintery. Since you do like sparkle Michaels Arts and craft has something like bling on a roll that you can use. It comes in sliver and gold if you're worried about it clashing with the chairs. I used silver for my centerpieces. diy centerpieces 2

I agree it looks winter. If the chairs are gold I would try to use more of that color instead of the silver and add some greenery

Those are beautiful! However, I do agree that they look wintery. Maybe add fall leaves around them?

They are super cute, but I agree it looks like it would be for a winter wonderland themed wedding.

I would add a few flowers to add some pop of color to take away the wintery feeling.it does look beautiful though.

Hi Meghan! On it's own it does look a little wintery, but the centerpieces will just be one piece of your tables and decor!

Have you thought about what color tablecloths you'll use or other table decor like chargers, napkins, place cards, or table numbers?? If the rest of your wedding decor isn't in super winter-y colors I think you'll be totally fine!

I love the hurricane vases, you could try twinkle lights for sparkle and add some floral instead of the glitter wrap.

Just because your wedding is in September doesn’t mean it has to be fall themed. I’m getting married Oct 24, but I refuse to have any pumpkins or burlap.

If you want sparkles everywhere because you love sparkles, do it!!! If you don’t want it to look too wintery, stay away from adding any other wintery colors (icy blue for instance). Maybe incorporate another glittery color. I think you can totally mix gold and silver, maybe add a little gold into the centerpieces to help them blend and coordinate more.
