DIY card box

So I wanted to make my own card box like this picture. I was thinking about using cardboard boxes but I want them to be square. The only sizes I could find were 12x12x12, 9x9x9 and 6x6x6 which will make the card box a little over 2 feet tall. I was wondering if anyone thinks this is too big? Or for those who have made their own card boxes what did you use for the boxes? I'm lost with what to do for the boxes lol.

That not too big if you like it go for it. In the past I have used just nice siz sq box to make one. I always have boxes left over from items I ordered, I just make good use of them. You can use a nice texture wraping paper or you can go to the fabric store and find some nice material. Happy crafting!

Thats not too big! I'm using round hat boxed for mine, it might even end up being a lilttle taller than 2ft. .. who cares!! that just means more cards can fit in it! Check out gift boxes at like the dollar store or target or something like that, sometimes they come in different sizes in one pack and wrap it in material.

I work for Dollar Tree and got empty boxes there. I know my store actually lets customers come in and take empty boxes. Not sure though how it is where you live though =) Good Luck

I got 2 rounds at hobby lobby. Less than $10.00 and spray painted it white and custom painted hot pink and orange polka dots. It was very time consuming but it's about 2' tall also.
