diy Bridesmaid's bouquets!

Ashley, on August 16, 2019 at 1:25 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8

For my upcoming wedding on December 15th, I plan on DIYing the bouquets for my bridesmaids as well as the boutonnieres for the guys. My bouquet and other decorations will come from the florist however, we are trying to save money wherever possible. Does anyone have any advice as to where is a good place to purchase flowers for this kind of thing? I've heard Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc. but what do you guys think?

If you're thinking of fresh flowers I recommend Trader Joe's or Costco. With Costco you can order them ahead of time and pick them up the day before or day of, they have roses in almost every color and you get 2 dozen for 16.99 (I think the price might've gone up to $17.99 but still a great deal). Greenery and other individual flower bouquets are $10 and mixed bouquets are $14.99 - You could get a thing of greenery and a thing of roses and put together the bridesmaids bouquets for about $30. Trader Joe's is even cheaper but I don't think you can place orders for specific colors/flowers.

September/October is when Michael's starts putting out winter and Christmas items if you want to get a jump. And sign up for emails to get coupons!

I’m so excited for this to see what I may be missing decorations wise lol. Hobby lobby has all their Christmas stuff out pretty much and said they would get flowers in by September.

Hi Hannah, Thanks for this! I hadn't considered doing fresh flowers myself before. I will definitely look into Costco and Trader Joe's.

I got my faux flowers at Hobby Lobby and Afloral.com. Both places have a great selection. Afloral had a nice selection of premade bouquets. I got premade bouquets from Afloral for bridesmaids and then added some real touch flowers from Hobby Lobby. They look great!

This is my mock up, I will be adding more too it. I’m just having difficulty finding more that work with it. Pictured is a mix of Ling’s Marsala and white roses. Hobby lobby greenery and the purple flower. And then white real touch Cala Lillie I bought on amazon. Still looking for smaller wine colored and purple flowers. Wish me luck!
