diy bridesmaids "bouquet"

Zenobia, on June 30, 2019 at 4:09 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 18
So I'm not really big on flowers and I'm also planning a wedding on a budget. I love diy stuff and im a tad bit crafty. So I saw these hexagonal bridesmaid's bouquets and thought they were cute and simple. I have a bunch of popsicle sticks laying around and thought I could use them to make similar ones. I think they came out rather nice but I dont think my mom cares for them as much. When I asked her what she thinks she said "it's your wedding" which in her terms mean she dont like them. I know its my wedding but I want to know are they trash or i am I just over thinking because my mom doesnt like them?

I don’t think you’re going to have the same effect as the inspiration photo because it looks much smaller (I’m assuming based on the size of regular popsicle sticks versus context in the other photo). I like the idea and that it’s simple, my concern would just be the size. Honestly though, if you love it don’t stress about what other people think, including your mom.

The size was my concern too. It is relatively smaller than the picture but I thought the picture was too big. Although mine are small against the body this is what it looks like. I was going for something simple and cute. I. Do like it for the cost. And the craftmanship.

I think it's ok that it's smaller but I think I would put more greenery and flowers

I think they are cute and I like the size. I think the inspiration pic is too big.

One simple suggestion is put the flower more on the side so it shows a better profile while carrying it or holding it against you.

You could add a little more greenery or a little ribbon bow like the picture if you'd like but I would make it where to see the face of the flower while walking.

Awesome! Girl, all I have been doing the past few weekends is playing with those kind of flowers to see what I can do with them.

Update I took Crystal's idea and changed the position of flower. I'm also going to try some other ways to jazz it up but not make it too overwhelming for its size.

What if you spray painted the Popsicle sticks gold?

Am I late to the party? I like the hex, Zenobia. I was looking at doing the hoops with a bit of pearls and ribbon.

I think this looks great! I agree and maybe add a little more greenery but it doesn't need much!

I like the idea of doing something alternative, but I think maybe metal would look better than the Popsicle stick. Buuuut, I'm not sure if you could find something in a hexagon that's metal.

Are you open to doing floral hoops instead?

Either way I think its a really creative and fun idea!

Here is an update on my alternative bridesmaid's bouquet if anyone was wondering lol. I added more flowers/greenery. They are exactly what i wanted not too much not to less.
