DIY Bridesmaid and Groomsmen gifts...

Mrs. Noratel, on December 17, 2013 at 4:20 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 13

Was looking for some ideas for DIY Bridesmaid/Groomsmen gifts. If it helps the wedding is in a garden at a mansion and it is the first day of summer (June 21st). I was thinking of putting somethings in a small tote for the girls (not sure what to all include yet), but other ideas are welcomed Smiley smile For the guys I'm clueless on ideas.

Our guys are getting beer mugs with just their name etched in them.

FH's brother does not drink or smoke, so that limited us with getting them all the same thing.

As for the bridesmaids, I have no idea. I will probably get them their Jewelry and some personalized stuff.

We're doing thank you gift baskets/bags for our BP. We're doing seasonal beers and snacks for them (along with a few other items that won't help you since they're fall-themed :] )

For my bridesmaids I made custom cosmetic bags with their initials in them. I just bought iron on letters from hobby lobby (It was so much cheaper than getting them customized somewhere else.) Inside I put things they can use on the day of (perfume, nail polish, etc.) I also did the same thing with acrylic tumblers. I bought the tumblers at the dollar store, bought cute bows to go on top (from hobby lobby) and vinyl decals with their initials.

For the groomsmen I got beer mugs and I used etching cream from hobby lobby to etch their names in them.

I saved a bunch by DIYing everything!

@ FutureMrsHagan Thanks so much! I did see online how much it is to buy customized cosmetic bags so I was hesitant but those area great ideas for cutting costs of things. I love it.

I would say make gift baskets for the grooms and bridesmaids. My friend made a spa/makeup gift basket for all her bridesmaids, including me. I loved it. She said she bought the baskets in bulk from here:

Then went to Ulta to buy the spa/makeup stuff. They always have coupons on their site...like $3.50 off $10, so you can definitely find great deals if you shop early enough.

I'm doing necklaces and emergency kits for the girls.

FH hasn't decided for the guys.

I feel like the guys are a little more difficult with deciding something for them.

@FutureMrsH - What are you putting in your emergency kits for them?

I have tote bags for my girls and I'm going to give them tank tops to get ready in, their jewelry, a bottle of wine, a painted wine glass, and I'm paying for their hair to be done. You could make tank tops with iron on rhinestones and paint a wine glass too!

@Jae - That's a really good idea too with the tank tops to get ready in and I love the painted wine glass idea. I actually received one before when I was a bridesmaid and I loved it.

Making a personalized gift basket is a fun idea. We personalize them at www.capcatchers.com.
