What we've done so far is:

My fiancé is in 2 bands so we have all of the equipment to be our own DJ.

His family are phenomenal cooks and they’ve offered to cater our wedding for cheap.

A relative of his is who worked in the baking industry for 30 years is gifting our cake to us.

I opted for faux flowers instead of real ones.

My uncle has offered to do our videography for free.

We are making our own centerpieces with the help of my aunt who did her own wedding.

Our ceremony and reception are in the same location.

And my grandfather is going to marry us since he is a pastor.

    Let's see.

My sister is making our signs.

    My mom made my dress

I made our centerpieces, card box, and all the decor. As well as my reception dress.

Not necessarily all DIY, but some cost cutting.

    We're making our own centerpieces.

    I'm making my dress.

And maybe I'll make one or two signs. But that's the extent of things we're making ourselves.

We're probably just going to get a speaker and use a playlist for reception music.

A friend of mine is going to help with make-up and hair. (I offered to pay her and she said not to worry about that)

We may just get a regular sheet cake and a small "special" cake instead of an over-priced actual wedding cake. And yes, if I did the math correctly, we could save about $150-200 doing that.

We're having a small reception, keeping it to 100 people

Our venue is local so we get a discount for living in the same area.

A friend of mine who was married last year has things we can borrow: lace doilies, tableware, glasses, pew decorations... She is also helping with plans and cost guidelines, so that helps us too.

The lady who is helping me with questions about style and fabric and design isn't sewing anything, so she said I don't need to pay her anything since she is sewing the dress. But I can always ask her questions and try things out on her model.

I found things that looked nice but weren't super expensive for the bridal party and am having them get the dress, shoes and sash to go with the dress. I plan to get them the hair pieces and something simple that is unique to them. (I also don't have a super big bridal party, so that helps) Plus, if they have any jewelry that matches the colors of the bridal party, I'm totally okay with them wearing that. It saves everyone money. And it'd be unique and cute if they all have their own style of jewelry.

We bought an invitation bundle off of Etsy (that was on sale) and intend to have it printed at a FedEx store. Any other paper things, we'll print at home.

Photography. We may possibly be able to get a friend to do it for a discounted price, but we really don't know on that one yet.

And that's all I can think of at the moment.

I made our wedding invites with some template cards from Michaels and used a printer to design the background and writing to my liking. We also got some wax seal stamps that were customized with our names and wedding date.
