Diy bouquets

Kesha, on July 29, 2019 at 4:29 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 17

My venue just sent me a quote for 1300 for flowers and I can't even fathom spending that much on something that's going to die. ( Just keeping it real). What are some good resources for making your own bouquets and other flowers for your wedding? What are the different types too?

I want a cascading structured bouquet with my ladies having structed rounded ones. I've looked on pinterest but can't really narrow it down. The only flowers I have to get from the venue are the flower girls cause they said picking up fake flowers are a pain.

Depending on your location and seasons farmers markets are a great resource for flowers.

I got mine from Michael's. They were already in a bundled bouquet and I just used it as that

I don't want to really pay for real flowers since they're going to die eventually. I really see it as money down the drain

I did Sola Wood flowers. I ordered raw flowers off etsy and Amazon, the painted them and put them in a foam holder with a handle. I wrapped the handle in ribbon and used some artificial fillers. I did 5 bouquets and total cost was around 150 bucks for all the materials.

I found a store on Etsy where I'm getting mine. It's called DressYourWedding, and they do the real touch silk flowers. Very beautiful, reasonably priced, and they last forever!!

Lings moment if you're into crafting a little. I just ordered roses and gardenias and will be using them to make out bouquets and part of centerpieces and the card cage. I love them! They photograph really well.

I'm using Lings moments as well... they will custom make you bouquets.. corsages and boutonnieres.. I got 4 bouquets.. 2 coursages.. 7 boutonnieres and some loose flowers and greenery for like 300 bucks.. The loose flowers are amazing and I ordered some pre-made isle decor that's beautiful as well.. I can't wait for my custom order to come in!

Check out flowermoxie.com They do DIY flowers, but really help you along every step of the way and have tons of videos and tips on how to do them. They also provide the "recipe" for your bouquets, centerpieces, etc. (like add x amt of roses and x amount of eucalpytus or whatever you are using so you know exactly what to use for each thing you just have to physically put it together). I just ordered my flowers here (I spent $360 - there is a $350 min) and have emailed them random questions and they always respond really quickly and have been nice and helpful.

Go to Etsy... there is a company called Pine and Petal... They make wood flowers ( before you say no) just go look at them... they look real and I am soo excited about them! I got them any color I wanted they weren't more expensive bc of the season and everyone who is having flowers ( BM/GM, parents etc) gets to keep them forever! We are doing some real flowers too but it cut our budget in 1/2. There is also a company called Southern blooms co which are a little cheaper but I was high maintenance and I wanted to see my bouquets every step of the way and P&P were AMAZING with customer service and they came pretty quick. Some places won't let you see the product until they are done which is a down fall but P&P worked amazing for me.

So there are many places to get fake flowers from (if that's the route you want to take). Depending on where you live there can be Michael's, Jo Ann's, Wal-Mart, and Hobby Lobby also the Dollar Tree is surprisingly a wonderful place depending on what kind of flowers you want. Because I am getting married on Halloween I needed black roses. So what I have been doing is looking at eBay, Amazon, Wish, and Etsy to see if I can find cheap enough single roses with some greenery and silver anything that I can get my hands on. There are different types of fake flowers too. There are silk, felt, etc. but honestly you are going to find silk more often than not. I am doing some experiments on what I want as a bouquet because I love the big cascade bouquets that I want to see if I can build it myself. I plan on using Youtube and just figuring out what works and what doesn't. I also suggest looking at ribbon that you like and in the color you want for the bases as well. I get a lot of ideas from Pinterest and see if I can make something like that and test it out with what I have so far then figure out if there is something else I want. You can do it! It's really fun for me so if you need help with ideas and everything let me know!
