DIY arch/backdrop

I have not made one, but my dad is making one for our reception. He is cutting costs by using basic piping and spray painting it silver as a base. He thinks it will be sturdy and cost-effective. If you have the time and energy, I think it would save money to make one!

If done correctly and with the right materials it could be more cost effective. Is there an old tree in your yard or parents? Are they wanting to get rid of? It could be perfect!

I've seen quite a few backdrops that were built by the FOB. The stories of the experience for the Bride and FOB coming together and making it happen have been some of the sweetest stories I've ever heard. The things every single story had in common ... transporting the backdrop, set up, break down, and then storage. Trailers were involved. Tools. A handful of guys dedicated throughout the day. The logistics were a big job to take on.

My FH's dad is making it out of pvc pipes and he says it's very cheap to make and it's easily dressed up with the fabric.

My dad is great with decorating for anything fall related and has done a few fall weddings so him and I are going to come up with something cool and different for my wedding arch.

I would have to make it myself so I'm thinking a frame like what photographers use, with fabric and some large paper flowers. I'm ordering the stuff for it this weekend... wish me luck!
