Divorced sister?

xxxxxx, on April 28, 2015 at 11:54 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

So, my 10 year old daughter has decided to be a flower girl instead of my MOH, because she wants to wear a white dress instead of the purple bm dress LOL! So, if my divorced sister is my MOH, is she the maid or matron of honor? Stupid question, but this wedding stuff can be confusing. And if I decide to have 2 MOH, would my other sister, who is married, but separated and dating someone else, be maid or matron of honor?

I would think that your married sister would still be a MATRON of honor, despite being separated

You can probably ask them what they'd prefer. Neither my sister nor I liked the term matron of honor. So she is still my maid of honor despite being married for 9 years.

This might be a good one to just ask what they would prefer.

Ask her what she would like the title to be. It's not a biggie - just semantics.

My sister, who's actually been married for 33 years, didn't want to be called Matron of honor because she said it sounded old, so she will be my Maid of honor.

Just ask them what they prefer to be called, as in the end it doesn't really matter.

Thanks! I think they both prefer Maid. I think Matron sounds old, too! If it doesn't really matter, we're going to go with Maid. lol
