I know it may seem impossible to part with it when you get it, but is anyone else not wearing your engagement ring after getting married?
The last time I wore my engagement ring was the morning of our wedding. I put it in the box right before I put my dress on and haven't taken it out since. A couple of people have asked me where it's gone to or if I'll resize it to wear on my right hand, but the truth is I never planned on wearing it after getting married. To my mind, the engagement ring the symbol of a promise, the band a symbol of a commitment. On a practical level, the ring snagged on things and constantly needed cleaning from wearing it most days. I am also not much of a jewelry person and my simple, handmade wedding ring (pictured below) is much more in keeping with my style.
If you see yourself wearing your engagement ring forever, why? What could make you decide not to wear it anymore? If you've already decided not to, what's your reasoning?
