Disneymoon?

Brooke, on June 10, 2020 at 9:36 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 8
Hello! October 2020 bride here. Before COVID-19, my FH and I had our dream trip to Disney World planned for our honeymoon. Staying at the Beach Club resort, Mickeys not so scary Halloween party tickets, reservations for Savi's Workshop, a Dining plan, and reservations to our favorite restaurants. Disney has since cancelled all experience and dining reservations and are not offering dining plans. Are any fellow brides planning on going to Disney World for their honeymoon before the end of the year? How are you all feeling about all of the changes?

Thats a tough one. I know people who work there and it does sound like Disney will be a strange experience until at least December. You may be better off either going somewhere else or postponing your honeymoon til 2021. Plus think about wearing masks in the heat. Sorry I dont mean to be a debbie downer, we’re not sure if we can take our September honeymoon either :/ Ultimately it just depends on if you want to wait until you can have the full experience or if youre okay with just what they have Smiley smile

We did a Disneymoon right before this all happened, and it was wonderful. I'm sorry that things are changing so much!

Disney being Disney, I'm sure they'll do everything they can to make visitors feel the magic, but if all the special things you wanted to do are being cancelled... maybe postpone and make it into an anniversary trip? Or a late honeymoon?

It Doesn’t sound like this is your first Disney experience. If it was I’d suggest waiting.
My husband and I did 3 days at WDW for our honeymoon and enjoyed it thoroughly and we didn’t even visit a park. We stayed at the Boardwalk and enjoyed the resort and Boardwalk area and did a bridal shoot at Animal Kingdom.
I do not think the experience will be the same; however, it’s Disney and they excel at what they do, so I do think they will find ways to keep the (some) magic. If you think the changes will disappoint you or you will keep thinking “we were supposed to be X” I think it would be best to skip it. If you’re go with the flow kind of people go for it and make some awesome new memories. It will be a story to tell later. I also just want to say I wouldn’t put off an actual honeymoon. We left at 5am the day after our wedding for the airport and it was the best feeling to stay in our little bubble. Telling people we’d been married for less than 24 hrs was fantastic! You only get that experience once. A delayed trip can still be wonderful, romantic, and fun, but that just married bliss only happens once. So even if it’s not Disney I suggest doing something right after. I personally am a passholder and am planning to go down at the end of July because the modifications wot they bother me. At the end it’s all about what you want to get out of it and what you want your experience to be.

My fiance and I along with two other couples (we are all friends and all getting married in September) planned a mini moon together in Disney world. But after all this, we canceled it all and we are not going. There's no way we will go this year even if they open up. Also we all may not be getting married this year anyways.

I was able to get through and book park reservations today. We're going in October. However if things change and we don't think we want to go we can still postpone the trip.

I'm currently planning our Disney Honeymoon for January 2021. With everything going on, we wanted to wait it out a little and see what is going to happen. This will be my FH's first time going to Disney, so I'm going to be a little bummed if all the events (parades/fireworks/shows) don't happen. I don't think it will prevent us from going, but the experience will definitely be different.

Agreed. Won't be the same without the parades, fireworks, etc. We are looking forward to no crazy lines (fingers crossed)

We had our disney moon booked for October 2020 but we've decided to move it. We're having a vow renewal and reception next October so we figured we should move that too. No parties, fireworks, parades, character meet and greets it just seems like there are way too many restrictions and rules. I just don't see it worth it in the financial aspect of still paying for regular priced tickets for shorter park hours too. Disney is disney so there will be magic no matter what but if you did decide to go anyway I would be prepared for a totally different experience!
