Disney Honeymoon

Courtney, on March 21, 2020 at 8:13 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 8
We were suppose to go on our Disney honeymoon at the end of May. Now with having to reschedule our wedding to June 20th, we are looking at rescheduling Disney to the end of June. However they are closed and not sure when they will open. The good thing is Disney is refunding trips booked through June 30th.

I am so torn on what to do. I've never been to Disney before and I've been more excited about this probably more so than the wedding. However, if and when they do open I feel like it is going to be super crowded. With the way I'm feeling right now a part of me just wants to rent a condo or something and hang out on the beach but who knows if they'll be open too. I hate being in limbo 😫

Disney honeymoon here too. We're waiting on the DVC that we rented to contact us. Also worried about crowds. We also booked a Disney cruise. This was all at the end of April. We know it's most likely cancelled... we just have to wait for official word.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I am planning our honeymoon at a beach but OMG Disney sounds so much better. Which park were you planning on going to? I hope they blocked a week or so for those of you that had trips already booked. At least the park wont be packed.

I booked through a travel agent and I told her I was waiting until April 1st to make a decision. I told her that if we didn't go in June, we would have to refund the trip because I'm a teacher and it would be too expensive for me to go later in the year.

We were going to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom. We were suppose to be there during Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival which looked beautiful from pictures. We had so many great things planned.

Honestly, Disney is crowded anytime you go! It could even have the opposite effect where people will be afraid to go - who knows! You could always wait to take your honeymoon later in the year - there's no rule you have to go on your honeymoon right after your wedding. My fiance and I aren't even planning on taking ours until next summer (we're getting married this October).

We did a Disneymoon in January, and had a blast. I'm so sorry you have to reschedule.

Is there anyway you could push it to the fall? Disney is always busy, but during school months, you can get a bit of a breather.

Don't forget to tell them it's your honemoon! You'll get buttons, and cast members will say something... we got a lot of congratulations, and free desserts!

I am a teacher so I looked at doing it during my Thanksgiving or Christmas Break. Thanksgiving would be another $500 and Christmas was going to be even more expensive than that. I feel like they should honor the prices of those having to reschedule, but they arent doing that. I also understand their reasoning for this, but at this point I'm tired of putting extra money into wedding or honeymoon 😥

    Oh, no, that's awful!

That said, there's no bad time to do Disney.

I will say that Epcot is HUGE, so if you can take 2 days for it, do that! It was my first time since I was 7, and DH's first time at DW, so we deliberately took things slow, and didn't remotely try to do everything. Now we have ideas for next time, so that's good.

I hope you have a great honeymoon!
