Who should I have do my readings? Suggestions please!

Tiffany, on May 30, 2011 at 5:05 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

I will be having 2 readings in my ceremony, but I don't know who I should have read them. I was going to have the MOH and BM do them but I thought it might be kind of awkward since the MOH will already be holding 2 bouquets.

FH has 3 sisters, so I can't just pic 2 of the 3 and not include 1. Also if I start including his sisters, I'll have to find a way to include my brother which I really don't want to do. He is kind of awkward and isn't very social.

Any suggestions as to who should do the readings?

I had the wives of two of the groomsmen do the readings. They are friends of ours as well and since the husbands were invited already to the rehearsal dinner, they were as well, so my MIL and FIL didn't have to pay for any more people!

That's a great idea Amanda, but the only spouse that I/we are close to out of people in the wedding party is already in the wedding. I'm trying to think of someone that is already coming, but can't figure it out without leaving anyone feeling left out as far as family goes.

Could you have the two sisters do a reading, the third sister say a prayer (in catholic mass it's the prayer of the faithful) and the brother hand out programs, or distribute the buttonaires and corsges, or act as an usher. Maybe he's a little shy, but an usher role would be perfect for that?

Do you have Aunts or Uncles either of you are close with, or good friends that are not in the bridal party?
