When to shop for the dress

Angela, on January 18, 2018 at 6:27 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
Hello all!
I have a ways, but I'm curious what time frame I should be shopping for the dress. I am having an October wedding (2019) and idk if I should plan October this year to look or if some other time is a smarter choice (mostly, looking for best times to get the correct season for a good price)

Hi Angela! I really think it's personal preference and the bridal shop you are looking into for your dress. Bigger retailers such as David's Bridal will get your dress in pretty quick, I would say a month or two depending. Other dress shops that are smaller (and probably more expensive) may take longer because their gowns are not manufactured and are done more so by hand. It doesn't hurt to look early so you have time or fall in love with a gown that may be over your budget. I would consider all these factors though since they are crucial to your wedding timeline

Thanks Monica! I am going to a place called Vows. I believe they are limited stock so you're probably right in that I should go early

I'm getting married this October (2018). I went shopping and got my dress the end of October 2017. It takes around 7/8 months to make my dress. Becker' s Bridal is amazing that's where I went.

My wedding date is March 2019 so roughly 14 months away, I just ordered my wedding dress last weekend. It came from a small bridal boutique and is a Stella York Design. They told me it wouldn’t come in for another 6-7 months. Keep in mind where you go and what designer you chose.

I’m not getting married until May 2019 but I’m going to my first bridal shop appointment at the end of February... not going to buy but I’m just too excited to wait any longer to try them on!

Anytime you can get a dress. Sometimea it takes a while to find the right one. Also keep in mind most dresses take 6-8months to come!
