What's your Grand Exit?

Private User, on September 25, 2014 at 5:59 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

I know sparklers are a huge hit, but can't think of anything else really. I am using bubbles for when we are announced as husband-and-wife.

Glow Sticks have been a popular option, as many venues won't allow sparklers (sad face)

I was thinking glow sticks too since our venue doesn't allow a lot of things either, but I don't really like how the photos on that site turned out. Smiley sad back to the drawing board and looking forward to seeing some responses

We are doing a sparkler sendoff and I am hoping no sparks burn my dress!

Sorry, we aren't having one, just staying at the reception.

This may be a stupid question, but when are these used??

The weddings I've gone to recently used them as the couple was walking down the aisle after the ceremony or leaving the ceremony site. However, I always thought it was when the couple left the reception.

As for a suggestion, I once saw glitter used. It was fun even though it got EVERYWHERE!

Not having one...staying at the reception until the very end. We're paying enough for this party, I want to enjoy every minute of it!

I think we will probably not have a grand exit, as I agree with Maltese - we want to stay until the end, especially considering everything that's going into it! When we walk back up the aisle as husband and wife, though, I think we're going to do homemade confetti made from leaves (nice fall colors too). Keeps it farm-y and rustic, and avoids any cleanup issues! Smiley smile

I would love to do sparklers, but I imagine a bunch of drunk people trying to light them and I would just rather continue partying elsewhere lol.

You can cut a small hole in the top of eggs. Wash them out. Dye them like Easter time. and fill them with confetti. Hand a few to everyone and it makes the best picture when people are smashing them on each others heads!!! We can't do this because our venue is outdoors and wants everything on the ground to be organic or we have to clean it up. But we are doing a 2 1/2 minute professional firework show and then driving off in a truck and going to the hotel. Not super traditional but it fits us!

    We're doing sparklers.

we're leaving just shortly before the end of our reception time, so we aren't missing the party. Once we leave, the guests will be outta there shortly after.

We are having guests toss lavender flowers on us for our exit from the Reception. They smell good and you don't have to clean it up since it will be outside.

We are doing the sparkler send off (the long ones with a heart at the end) right when it gets dark and about 15 minutes before everyone else leaves, then we will be chauffeured by friends in a classic orange (pops of orange is our color with multi garden/wild flowers) GTO convertible to the casino to meet friends for a little more dancing.
