What kind of nonsense is this?

MzRosaLu, on December 16, 2015 at 6:28 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 62

A couple of months ago, I posted about FH's cousin sending out a group message on facebook asking everyone to look at her Walmart registry (which had 0 gifts on it), then asking for cash gifts. Well, today she just announced in a public facebook status that RSVP's for her March 5th wedding are due this week. Seriously?!!

"Just a reminder for those who are attending to our wedding on march 5th please inbox my fiance or myself if you're coming so your names can be put on the guest list RSVP is due by Dec 20th. Security won't let you in if your name isn't on the guest list. Please let us know if only you're attending. Thank you have a blessed day."

Oh, and here's the kicker: the wedding is self-catered. (This is WTF Wednesday, after all.)

Any fun suggestions for what we should get them as a wedding gift?

I'm guessing the fact that it's self caterer is the reason the RSVP is so early...to give them time to be as prepared for that monstrosity as they can be.

Oh my goodness! That wedding sounds like it will be a train wreck...

I love that your name "needs to be on the list" or you won't get in..

I say you get them something cheesy off of etsy

@RATR hahahaha -- the gnome idea is pretty good too. Any type of weird garden or home statue would probably work.

Ummm is their wedding a nightclub? Why the hell is their security. Is everyone on facebook invited or did you get a real invitation?

Perhaps buy them a book on etiquette?

I agree with Jersey Jen. I would give anything but cash. A gnome or something super useless and cheap sounds like a good plan.

I would definitely go with an ugly garden statue.

Or something personalized like a cutting board or doormat with their name on it, or his and hers cooking aprons. It's not even a bad gift (kinda cheap for a ny wedding) but can't be returned for cash.

Anything that can't be returned for cash. Like a gift card?
