Wedding invites sent out.. but

victoria, on August 16, 2017 at 6:17 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 20

Reading another post now that I think about it I had only put "together with their families " on there. Are you suppose to put your parents names on the invitations?

I think all the etiquette with the wedding invitations comes from who's paying for it. But ultimately it's your wedding and you can have it say what you want.

It's up to you! We put our parents names but I know tons of people use "together with their families". Did your parents see the invites? Are you worried they will be hurt?

Well it's not my side but my fiancee side that I'm worried about lol. They are so much more detailed about the proper thing to do then I am. They might say something but it'll pass I'm sure. I think I get to hung up on pleasing everyone. Especially since his parents are chipping in.

We didn't put names or say "families". We are paying for the party. I put "my name and FH name invite you to celebrate..."

I didn't put parents names or even our families - we paid for just about everything.

Ours were similar and said 'Together with their parents'. I think what your invitations said is a good way to generally include both sides of the family. For us, we have all divorced and remarried parents so we would have 7 parents to list. Well 5, if I went by who was contributing or even just being involved.

All of our parents are helping, but we still did together with our families. My parents are divorced and that was just way too many names for one card.

We didn't mention families or our parents at all since we are hosting the event

Our parents are each contributing, but we are paying for the majority of it. My parents are divorced and remarried so we would be listing too many people or having to leave someone out. We will be using "Together with their families" to avoid hurt feelings and to simplify our invitations.

I did together with their families. I thought it honored both families better without having 6 names listed out in the invite. I didn't want to do the brides parents invite you blah blah blah because his parents are helping pay too and I think it feeds in to the wedding day is all about the bride thing and that kind of annoys me
