Videography

Kathy, on September 9, 2016 at 9:36 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 18

Just discussed prices with a videographer and wondering if this is a good deal.

The package includes our entire ceremony, with 2 additional hours which one would be cocktail hour and the other would be entrances, first dance, toasts, and parent dances if we do them early for $900! This includes a full edit as well as travel expenses.

What do you guys think? Everyone close to us who has gotten married did not get a wedding video done, and regrets it a lot. So they also don't know what a good price is.

Thanks in advance!

I'm paying mine 1,000 and it includes everything except sound, which I'm okay with that.

If you like the quality and style. That's a very low price for the entire time. How long have they been doing weddings? AND travel expenses? Hmmmm....

@Shay how many hours does yours include? I am leaning towards that I am getting a great price but I am also worried that maybe I am pay too much for only a short time. Our ceremony is half an hour so he will only be there for 2 and a half hours.

@GymRat they have great reviews and I have been watching their wedding videos all night. I love their work. What do you think? Great price for ceremony and 2 additional hours?

The cheapest package I found was $1725 and that was for 3 hours. Of course it depends on where you're located too, but sounds to me like a good deal!

Sounds like a great price to me, all the ones I've looked into have been over $1500

I'm having some serious jealousy issues over here. I live in a heavy wedding and tourist area so the cheapest videographer I have found is $2000 for just a couple hours.

So you'd be leaving one hour for the dances, toasts and entrances. Seems tight. But where do you live? That makes a difference. I'm in NYC so my cost is nowhere near yours. I'm jealous lol.

Mine was twice that price, but he was there 8 hours. He may have done some taping, during the cocktail hour, but it didn't come through on the final/edited tape. I don't know why you'd want the cocktail hour taped? We had the bridal party entrance, toasts/speeches, the 3 special dances, the cake cutting, etc., as well as footage getting ready, the first look, and bridal party and family before the ceremony.

@GymRat I was also thinking the same, seems tight!! We live in CT.

I reached out to the videographer today about our budget and he personalized this package for us. Also, I think booking way in advance helped the price as well. Thank you for all your feed back, I believe that this is a deal that we can't back down!

That's extremely cheap, the question is, is their work good and are they reputable?

I think so. I paid $800 extra for a shortened video of highlights

What area are you in? I'm in Dallas and most of the packages I've found are $2500 on the low end

Sounds like a great deal to me! Mine is only charging us $900 as well, they were running a summer deal so we got $500 off of our wedding videography!

I've heard from friends who decided not to get a videographer and totally regretted it. Though I know there are several services where you can have your friends and family film and the company will edit all of these for you
