Unity Glass

We do lots of these; they go just as smoothly as a sand ceremony. It is pretty much the same process.

Here's mine! We loved it. Like Celia said, it's just like sand. We poured the glass pieces during the ceremony and mailed them off. While pricey, we love it!

I found them online just yesterday after I saw Celia's response to another similar post. They are out of Lubbock Texas and ship you your selected class pieces. You send them back and they will make your sculpture, vase, ornament, bowl, glass heart and send the finished product back to you. It's a bit pricey but they also have a 2-step plan where you purchase your pieces and send them back to be fired into your artwork within a year and then send the remaining $ for the finished product. I was impressed with them when I talked to them this morning! Also, they wanted to talk to me to make sure the 7 colors we chose won't overpower the piece and wanted to recommend a light blue so this wouldn't happen. I liked that they wanted to make sure I understood the process and would be happy with the finish product. Even though I am 10 days away from my wedding and am only in the beginning stages of this, I would highly recommend.

^we also went with unity in glass and had a great experience. I think the only con is it takes a while to make it, but it's one of a kind so that's expected. Mine came a week late but they emailed me notifying me that it would be coming late so that was nice.

Also, I'll be going to their studio this coming Saturday to meet Lee and pick up my pieces on our way to Colorado. They're not usually open but he is happy to come in to meet us and discuss our colors in more detail.

@Amber, that's beautiful! I'm not familiar with this process. Do guests get to see it in its full glory right then, or does it have to be sent somewhere for firing? I need to go use the Google lol.

@SaraJ they send you glass crystals and you mail them back after the wedding. We pour the crystals during the ceremony like you would sand!

@Amber, that's super neat! If I wasn't nerding out and doing a chemical reaction, I'd definitely do this over the sand or unity candle!

That came out beautifully Amber! The colors are gorgeous.

For those who love the concept but might want to keep the cost a little more contained, we recommend Bullseye Glass to order the frit (generally under 10.00 per color) and then a local studio that could either make you an object or enroll you in a one afternoon class to make your own. (In NJ, we recommend GlassRoots as one of our faves).
