We did a coffee table book! I saw this done at a wedding just a few weeks before my own (and asked them if it was ok to do as well.) They had a coffee table picture book of the city we're all from. It was gorgeous pictures of known landmarks and things. They had a sign that said "Find your favorite spot in the city and sign it!"

Considering my DH and I are both born and raised (and will continue our lives and family) in this city, we knew it was perfect. Everyone loved finding their favorite page and it has sat on our coffee table since our wedding! We love it!

Don't know how "unique" it is, but we did wine bottles. There were 4 of them with labels to open on our 1st, 3rd, 5th and 10th anniversary. Our friends gave us the giant "Jeroboam" of our favorite wine, so we had them sign that as well. Everyone signed them with paint pens. So we will not hang on to them forever, but will enjoy reading them on each anniversary. Not sure when we are going to open the big guy! They are in our wine cellar.

If you don't want to do an over done guest book idea, think about what is something you both are into and see if it's something you could turn into a unique guest book.

Both me and my hubby are into clocks and time pieces (I like more old fashioned time keepers while hubby is more into clocks and watches), so we got a large clock for our guests to sign, that way too our guest book will actually be useful to us in the future. Hubby was concerned that people wouldn't know it was out guest book so I had made a sign that read "Time spent with friends and family is time well spent. Please sign our clock". Everyone thought it was a cool idea that was both different and unique to us as a couple.

We’re gonna do something like this. We’ll have all our guests sign the mat and then hang it. My vision is to have it be the centerpiece of a gallery wall.

Instead of the traditional book, ill be using a wooden frame. Found it on pintrest and intsantly fell in love. Plus it goes perfect with my rustic- chic theme

We are doing a book. Which I think is more unique these days... Lol. We don't have room to display a large alternative guest book.

I've having guests sign wine bottles.

I will have the same wine set for anniversary years 1; 5; 10; 15. Guests will have the option to sign any of them with a paint pen. I like the idea of seeing how the wine ages alongside our relationship ^_^

I like the idea of getting a large wooden monogram for people to sign because I can actually imagine hanging that in the house and not shoving it away in a box somewhere. I've also seen people have guests sign the matboard that they will use when framing their wedding photo/photos to hang. I also like the coffee table book idea, and I may toy with that. I've been thinking about creating a star chart for the location and night of our wedding and having guests sign around it. At this point, if it's not something we will use or display in our home, my philosophy is: don't bother.

We had the polaroid book! My MOHs got me a personalized book that was beautiful but I wanted more than just writing so I had a polaroid. My girls made sure all guest signed and included more than one picture per page. I love it!
