Under a week and FREAKING!

Kaitlynd, on September 17, 2017 at 6:31 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 11

So I'm officially freaking out. I've been so chill up until yesterday. My eye has had a constant twitch, I'm worrying about everything, I'm anxious/nervous all the time (Which means I feel tired a lot) I just have a terrible feeling that something will go wrong. Hopefully I'm not the only bride that feels this way! Thankfully just one more night of work and then itll really kick in! 6 days left and it's going to fly by!

No you are not! I am in same exact boat. I've been pretty cool about everything since we started planning, but since Friday I just cannot keep my anxiety down.

I am so nervous about how I am going to look in my dress. I ordered 2 more veils yesterday morning (thanks prime) because I decided I didn't like my other one...

I have 2 more days of work and I am really hoping this ends soon!!

3 days of work. I haven't slept an entire night in 3 weeks, and when I do sleep I have wedding nightmares! I'm really ready for Saturday to hurry up and get here so we can be married already Haha!

Of course something will go wrong. Something ALWAYS goes wrong. With so many moving parts, it's enevitable....but you know what? Unless you forgot to order food or ice or booze, no one is going to notice. They won't know that you forgot the cute signs, that the roses weren't the right color of red, that the caterer brought pigs in a blanket instead of spinach pie, that the recessional music wasn't the song you picked. They'll remember the overall tone of the day. If you picked great vendors, listened to what they advised and walked into the day relaxed? That is the most important thing.

One of my couples this weekend had their industrial chic venue snarfed out from under them literally a month ago and moved to a cozy, genteel hotel instead. Completely different vibe; chillest bride I've had in a while. Today, I'm marrying a friend and colleague and there have been some bumps in the road with that planning as well, and it's starting to rain here.

Does it matter? Nope. Because both of these couples were focused on the friends they've invited, the ceremony they designed and the parties they're throwing. They know that if something falls off the edge, no one will notice if they're personally having a good time; it's infectious.

We've had missing MOH's, missing sparkly belts, missing DJ's and vows, late MUA's and shuttles, food that makes you go, "WTF??" But unless you have a colossally bad plan to begin with, it all works out and you'll be married at the end of the day.

So chill! Sleep! It'll be fine.

I've reached a point where I'm just done. All I'm asking people to do is show up, watch us get married, and eat food. I'm super grumpy. All I want to do today is go home, curl up on the couch, and watch movies. I guess that could be my anxiety, but I can't say for sure. Poor FH has been a champ this week because my family is driving me nuts.

Got married last night and went through the same thing. 4 hours of sleep a night and not tired. Not caring about eating all of that. But I can now say my day came together perfect. The professionals were just that and made it all work out. It is an incredible feeling seeing your vision come together Smiley smile

Feeling the same, thanks Celia for your words to OP that make me breath easier. Planning has been fun and easy and it was like a bus hit this weekend worrying about things I can't control.

I'm just done with all the family drama and just want this over with. FH wanted me to go over the seating chart with her but I already told him it's done. She's sitting with her friends and her one table of family members is right next to her. Also, her ex husband is on the other side of the room. He calls and tells her, and she's upset that she wasn't included in making the seating chart. I'm just so frustrated. This is my wedding, I don't need to do every single thing with her. Just ready to be done!

Two weeks ago I was in your same spot - anxious, testy, grumpy, tired, you name it!! But thankfully now I'm really excited and surprisingly calm! I have a list for everyday between now and the wedding so I can see what needs to be done and when. That has helped ALOT!

And just enjoy it! September 23rd brides, these are our last couple days until we're married! Enjoy the planning and fun of our weddings! Smiley smile
