Travel Agent Woes

Sarah, on November 24, 2018 at 3:16 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 3
For my honeymoon my fiancé and I are hoping to deal with a travel agent. We have enough going on with the wedding. I was excited to tel someone what we are looking for, then have them give us all the options.

For the last two months or so, I have been emailing off and on with an agent that my moms friends swear by. She got my mom a great deal on Vegas in the past. Mostly, we have just been taking about my ideas and where we want to go and she’s been responsive, but when it comes to actually giving me ideas on resorts, she’s horrible at getting back to me. I’ve noticed i always have to message her first to remind her about my questions. About a month ago. I told her exactly what we were looking for and gave her the week I was pretty much guaranteed to get off for work. She told to me let her know the exact week and she would start blasting us resorts. So I let her know Sunday (almost a week ago) the week at work was confirmed and she said she would work on it Monday. Well it’s been 6 days and I never heard from her. I understand it’s a holiday week, but we are very anxious to book ASAP because I know there are deals this time of year. I’m upset I already missed out on Black Friday deals. And I told her the week I was pretty sure I was going to have and where we wanted to go a month ago.

I don’t know what to do because this lady was recommended to me and has spent time working with me already, but I really need to work with someone that I know has the time to work on my honeymoon and will get back to me right away. I have a coworker I found out that does travel agent stuff on the side and I really want to contact her. Just don’t know what I would say to the First Lady when and if she eventually gets back to me. And I don’t know how long to give her before moving on to my coworker.

I’d say if she doesn’t get back to you on Monday you should go with someone else. She is supposed to be working for you and this doesn’t seem like a good representation of someone to work with. If the first one finally does get back to you in the future I’d just say you already booked it.

We went to Liberty Travel and had a great experience.

You don't have time to be playing games and waiting for this lady to get back to you.

    Move on and good luck!

Hi Sarah! I am sorry you are dealing with this situation. It's really up to you, but I agree, perhaps moving on to someone else, who you know will be more communicative and reliable will be better in the long-run. That way, you can rest assured about your honeymoon plans. Smiley heart
