To veil or not to veil that is the question...

Almost Mrs. Marvel, on December 27, 2013 at 4:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 30

So I cant decide wether or not I want to wear a veil for the ceremony...

I am leaning toward yes.... but they are kinda expensive because I would want a longer one, chapel length with beading.

So I was thinking either totally making one or buying a plain one and adding the beading trim myself...

I don't know...

What are y'alls thoughts on veils???

Wear it! Its the only day in your life that you legitimately can!

ETA: I've heard the more brides that use a veil the better the luck. Maybe you can find one from an aunt, etc.

I'm glad I had a veil, but some people/dresses work better without one. It's totally up to you Smiley laugh

@megan... Ha ha its very true... LOL

@lisa... I was thinking the same thing...

My dress is pretty plain so I am adding a beaded belt to jazz it up a bit and because my grandma wanted me in something super flashy and sparkly LOL.

So I thought a bead trimmed veil would add some more fun to it...

@laura... Did you wear your veil for the ceremony & reception or just the ceremony? And do you wish you would have done the other?

I'm wearing a tiny one that's attached to my fascinator - it just goes to below my chin, and then gets wrapped up afterwards. I'm not feeling the veil vibe with my short dress. :-)

I got a beautiful beaded lace veil (two tiered) on Etsy for $70. It is nicer than the one my sil got for $250 for her wedding...

I say wear one! That's what really makes you look like a bride instead of just some chick in a fancy white dress. Try finding a second hand one, vintage, or it can be your something borrowed from a relative that had one you like.

If you want to make one, I say go for it. They are really easy to make!

Do you have a pic of your dress? That might help us base our opions for you.

But personally I feel a veil completes the bridal look.

I just bought one off of etsy for $40. To me, a veil makes it bridal.

I think your dress would look amazing with a simple finger tip veil. I'm seen a lot of things on pinterest about how to make your own? Looks pretty easy and a LOT cheaper. I'm leaning towards a blusher veil myself paired with a tea length dress.

I got mine online for about $50 from victoriasveils, a place based in Houston. Ivory with a black lace trim. Only bc I got anxious, bored, & impatient about another head piece that wouldve been delayed. Brides shouldnt wear a veil bc they think they have to IMO. It wont make you any more or less of a bride

I'm actually debating this. I bought a veil, but now I don't know if I want to wear it.

Also, the FH made mention that he wasn't to fond of them which makes me second or third guess it....

I think the longer one make great photo shots too...

I am wearing a veil because what other day of my life will I ever be able to? Also I love the way my dress looks with a veil. Smiley smile

I'm not wearing one, I always knew I didn't want one. They look great on others I just don't like them on me. I tried a few on to be sure and didn't like the look on me at all, neither did my sister and she thought I was crazy before seeing me with one.
