To have a videographer or not?

Meriam, on February 10, 2017 at 9:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

Not sure if we should have a videographer. Was thinking just photographer. We are on a budget but will I regret not having video?

I am not doing one. It wasn't worth the expense to me. It is a personal decision. We are having a small short wedding. I was fine with just having nice photos. I didn't have thousands more for video also.

I am having one. The day goes by so fast I want to be able to relive it by watching the video.

No video is the #1 thing some couples say they regret.

On Geek app they have Gopros for like $30 . We are just going to pass it around and have people say a few words.

Are plan is to watch it every year on our anniversary.

Do it! It was a last minute add on for us and I was so happy we did it. Our videographer captured things we would have totally missed! Plus it's great to have a 2-3 minute highlight video to share.

That was one thing I thought I would have to give up to stay in budget. Surprisingly I found a good videographer for only $300. She's an amateur wanting to launch a career, people like that are your best option. I would also talk to your photographer and ask them for recommendations with whatever price range you can afford.

I think it's worth it. You will hear people's voices and see them in motion. They'll be frozen in time. People that may not be around forever.

Still on the fence as well, right now I'm planning on having a close friend use a decent camera phone to catch the highlights.

We opted to do it for a few reasons:

    1. We want to have these memories on tape because my mom is sick and FH's dad is older. They won't be around forever, and that breaks my heart.

    2. I wish I could see my grandparents' wedding. I want a video so my grandkids can see mine, if they want.

    3. I want to be able to revisit one of the most important days of my life, and notice things I probably missed on the day itself.

Me and the FH are having one of the members of the family do it. He's actually really excited to do it!
