Tanning Fail - Help!!

karebear87, on May 18, 2015 at 11:44 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22

Okay so I decided to do some fake and bake before the wedding because I'm so pale... A friend of mine works at a tanning salon so she hooked me up and let me use her darkening lotion.

The first two sessions were totally fine... Then this morning I woke up with these weird stains in between my fingers and couldn't figure it out until FH told me "It's from the tanning!"

So now I have these gross brown stains... Anyone know how to get rid of them with out sanding my skin off??

ETA: grammar... Mobile app stinks

It's not from the tanning. It's from the product you put on your skin.

Try making a baking soda paste and using that to clean it off.

Yes - that's what I meant. It's from not rubbing in the darkening lotion

I think lemon juice is supposed to help with that. Maybe make a sugar scrub and lightly exfoliate there as well.

You have a few days- it'll be fine- usually the extra wears off in a 3-5 days with regular showering and hand washing.

I used to have the same problem when I used to go to tanning beds. The best thing I found was hydrogen peroxide or lemon juice mixed with salt in a sort of scrub.

Also, next time you go to the tanning bed, make sure as soon as you are done, use the towel they provide to wipe your hands completely. When you leave, use bar soap and water to remove the bronzer from your hands. Immediately washing your hands will help remove the excess and prevent too much staining.

Yea lemon will help. I would find a lotion that doesn't have a bronzer in it for that reason. You won't get as dark of a look but it will also be natural. It will definitely come off in time. I wouldn't use that lotion anymore though. You don't want to take the chance of being streaky or getting bronzer on your white dress.

The nice thing is on your hands it will come off Ray since we are always washing or hands. I get that all the time from using the jergens lotion. by time your wedding comes it will bE gone. Next time after you are done just make sure you wash your hands.

Mix some coconut oil and sugar, makes a nice exfoliating scrub thats real nice on the skin. Stay away from that bronzer.

The salon that I go to has hand sanitizer on the desk so I always use it before I leave. My fingers never get streaky and I only use bronzing lotions. It will be gone by your wedding, though. Don't stress about it. Wash your hands often & definitely wash with warm water & lemon.

Glad that worked! Please don't use a tanning bed-it's just not worth it. If you're concerned you're too pale, go for the spray tan option. I would try it now to see how it wears and then get your application a day or two before the wedding.

**read my comment in that thread** i also added pictures. that was from my first time ever using the "st. tropez dark bronzing mousse" self tanner from sephora (also heard loving tan was good).. next time just be sure to moisturize your hands, elbows, knees, and feet, and be sure to wash your hands when you're done, Smiley smile and dont do it more than 2 days before your wedding.

and the two videos i watched before doing it myself. Smiley smile

Spray tan or anytype of bronzing lotion you should not leave on your hands or in between your fingers, they won't absorb the bronzer and will just clump up and go all gross looking like happened. Mr clean magic eraser will work to blend it and make it look even.

Yes lemon juice but also a cheap bottle of st Ives apricot scrub will do some wonders.
