Starting to have a meltdown and becoming a bridezilla.... vent post !!

Jasmine , on September 14, 2018 at 8:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 10

Good evening everyone,

So for my wedding, I decided to go with the do it yourself way, only because my vision for my wedding seem to be simple and easy. However, I ordered some vases for vasemarket.com and they were delivered last week and today I decided to open them. Well.... the vases are not what I what I expected. One is broken and I pulled out another vase and it was dented in multiple places. I have not looked at the others bc I'm just disappointed. I'm not necessarily disappointed in the breakage and dents on the vase but they are entirely too big for the tables. I just wanna scream bc it's just not what I imagine. I am a person who does not like mess up and I know its inevitable but that just my personality. I am glad that I have started to order decor nine months early bc if we were like a month away I would freak ALLL THE WAY OUT. I think I'm done with the DIY stuff, I will hire a decor company because I just can't.

Why don't you check out something like Dollar Tree? They actually have a great selection for super cheap and you can see most of the options in store. If you need more than they have in store, you can order them individually or by the case online and have them delivered to the store for free.

Don’t give up yet! You’re lucky you started early so you have time to fix this. Have you gone to any physical stores to look at vases? I hate ordering stuff online because I need to see it in my hands to know if it’s what I want.
Try Michaels or AC Moore. They have lot a of selection and don’t forget to look up coupons online they ALWAYS have them.

    Hey Jasmine,

Sorry to hear that! I had a DIY mess when i tried to make my own money box by watching a YouTube video.... it is much harder than it seems. I eventually just ordered one off Etsy and it was the best thing i could've done. If you can afford it, hire an event decorator for sure!!! It will be well worth it and the money and time you would spend doing it on your own would probably be similar to paying someone. Of course you might spend a little more to pay for the services but you cant put a price on peice of mind.

I second the poster who suggested the event decorator. I knew up front that my diy skills were zero so we built into our budget an event decorator. Our contract said clean lines and boy did she deliver. Day of when I saw her work, I almost cried but for my fresh makeup. The icing on the cake was she came back at the end and packed her decorations up...so zero clean up. I'm in north florida so if anyone needs her name/contact info let me know. Sorry I don't know if she travels.

Dollar tree was a go to of mine but not for the cylinders bc they only come on 9inch and I need taller cylinder vases.

Thank you ! My Fiancé suggested that to me yesterday. I just knew when I ordered them they were going to be great. I mean there truly nothing wrong I just didn’t know their will be this big and that will not look right for centerpieces on the guest tables.

    Thank you !

Luckily I have been in contact with a florist who also does decor. I have been in contact with last night and showed her my vision and she has everything I need for my vision. My fiancé gave me the okay to hire one so I think I will go that route because I refuse to keep getting stress.

That’s sounds great. Yes my DIY skills aren’t that great either but these were simple tasks so I figure I could do it. The cylinders are not bad there just entirely to big for the tables. I will most likely use them outside to line the aisle with candles. However, my fiancé has given me the okay to hire a decor company and luckily I was in contact with a florist about flower but she does not decor as well.
