ToBeMrsM is right. Plastic bags and wedding gowns aren't a great idea. The yellowing could have come from several places: lack of air circulation, humidity in the closet or area in which the gown has been stored, or something came in contact with that area of the gown when you tried it on several months ago -- beverage, perspiration (even on your hands), etc. -- and it may have been something you never noticed. Over time, the liquid evaporates, but the stain develops.

Don't try self-help. Get your gown to a professional. After the wedding, have it cleaned, preserved, and boxed.
