So i want a craft machine, which to get?

CruzWin, on February 3, 2019 at 7:34 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 6
So I've decided to get a craft machine like cricut. I like cricut but its so pricey. I've looked at other machines like silhouette, cameo, brother, and sixxus which were less pricey but seems like did the same thing. Should I just stick to cricut? Any suggestions?

I have a Cricut and some days I consider marrying it instead of my FW. I don't have experience with any other machines, but my Cricut has been well worth the investment. I've saved more than I can count on home decor, gifts, wedding items, etc. The Maker is significantly pricier than the Explore Air 2 ($150 more) and it's not necessary unless you sew and will be using it for fabric. Otherwise the Explore Air 2 is great for most projects.

I have a cricut and I’ve never had anything else. My sister and I cut out all her wedding invitation sleeves in both our cricuts and it was a grey investment. It’s great you’d be surprised how much you can do with it once you figure it all out. Well worth it. I ended up getting a package off of cricut.com and mine came with a ton of accessories and supplies.

I have also never had anything but a Cricut but it was a great investment for me. I’ve had it since maybe September and I’ve been able to do a ton with it. Personalized gifts left and right. I was so glad that I picked it. I have the explore air 2. I would recommend checking your Facebook marketplace or Craigslist, letgo, things like that. Maybe you can get a like new one for cheap.

I love my Cricut Maker! I don't have experience with other machines, but my Cricut has been phenomenal. My wedding is ages away, so I haven't done too much crafting for it yet, but I've begun to try out some acrylic signs and the cutting of vinyl for it has been a breeze.

I have the regular Cricut Explore (non-Air) and it is freaking amazing!! The invitation suite I've designed for our wedding would be about $10 a set if I were to buy them on Etsy so with one single project it's more than made my money back for me. You don't have to go all the way to the top with the Maker, but I have heard that it does true emossing as well which I really wish I could do with my explore. For now, I'm sticking to the embossing pens and powders.

I have a Cameo, I love it but I've never owned a Cricut. I've used it for everything from creating vinyl and heat transfer monograms to addressing the envelopes for our invites. My Cameo is a few years old so I should probably upgrade soon and I'm not sure if I will stick with Silhouette or go to the Cricut Maker. I guess the decision really comes down to what you want to create with it; I think the Cricut cuts more materials like cork, wood, and metal. They seem very similar otherwise.
