Single best piece of wedding advice I have gotten....and will pass on...

ChocolatierKT, on August 10, 2016 at 11:32 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 35

Writing a number on the back of the rsvp cards that corresponds to their number in the guest list. We have gotten 45 cards back and I would say 30 of them didn't write their names. Our rsvp cards are silly and specifically say tell us who you are under the line for them to write their names but it's still impossible lol. If I didn't write the numbers I would be so screwed. Do this!!! So worth the extra time

I've seen this idea on Pinterest. I'm definitely going to do it, even FH thinks it's a great idea, and he's a "whatever makes you happy" kind of groom.

I numbered mine too, but all ours happened to write their names. I was excited to use my invisible ink pen though.

Yes! This is a must! Especially when you have 4 "Mr & Mrs Smith's" rsvp back and have no idea which one is which!

You even wrote a "Tell us who you are" at the bottom...

We numbered ours too. Our biggest issue was people giving the number of meals (I.e 2 steaks) versus initialing when we clearly said please initial.

That is hilarious that you wrote "tell us who you are" haha I love it!

I forgot the numbering trick but luckily we didn't have any no-name RSVPs. We had similar issues to @Britt - we asked guests to initial their meal choices but lots of people tallied. I figured couples could just figure it out but I had to contact a few families to figure out what everyone wanted to eat.

I'm definitely doing this! I'm not surprised that some people forgot, but I am surprised that most people forgot with yours!

@Going to the chapel, it really doesn't matter how many times it's brought up. There will forever be newbies who don't know about numbering RSVPs, for whom mentioning it a million and one times will be beneficial.

I used pencil on the back lower corner of our cards. It was the BEST! We didn't have too many people not write names. But we had RR Sr and RR Jr, both with 2 people, both both wrote RR and not who else was going. >.<

I numbered mine and haven't had to use the numbers at all. Everyone wrote their names. I feel pretty confident that if I hadn't numbered I would be wishing I did.

Yup we numbered ours. We only needed it once because literally the first thing we asked people about was "Names of those attending:"

I did this and only used it for one person, but it was still worth it not to have to weed through to see whose it was.
