Save the date

Kayla, on January 4, 2018 at 5:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
Is anyone sending out their "save the date"? I kinda like the idea of doing one of our engagement photos and turning it into a magnet for STDs. I figure people will has a less chance in losing them! Any ideas on where I can purchase these for a good price?? Or thoughts on the magnet idea?

Minted.com is good for that. Magnet idea is good as well. I went with a post card feel and put 3 engagement photos on there.

I know people have strong feelings on the magnets. We did them and it worked out well for us. Before we did them, people kept asking us when the wedding was again. Since then, people always bring up the date themselves in casual conversation, and we’ve seen them on everyone’s refrigerator so far (though we only sent them to VIPs, so maybe your cousin’s daughter’s godfather wouldn’t want it).

We ordered them on a 50% off sale from Shutterfly.

Magnets are a good idea for STDs - Vistaprint will probably be one of the lowest prices.

I love and chose magnets. Shutterfly 50% which may go off sale today. Yesterday or today, but 40%-50% pops up from time to time. Vistaprint may be cheaper, but both FH and I said we prefer magnets. I've had several paper save the dates and they went in the trash or lost almost immediately. Since magnets are higher in cost be sure to send per household (not per person) and VIPs in case you need to change your guest list.

We planned our wedding in four months and never even thought of doing save the date. They are nice to do if your wedding is a reasonable amount of time away.

Magnets are a great idea, since I put Save the Dates on the refrigerator anyway. I like them with photos or without; just love to see different couples' personal touches.

We even received one from my nephew, who planned his (military) wedding in 2 months.

My daughter is skipping them at this point, since they'll be doing invitations soon.
