Sample vs. Fitted

Do you mean after your first fitting alterations? Or just how samples differ from ordering a dress in your size pre-alterations? The people at the bridal salon where I bought my dress were really great at clipping the sample to make it look like it was the proper size, so there isn't much difference for me. In fact, I'd say the sample looks more fitted because of the clips and because my actual dress needs some alterations in the bust area.

My pics do look quite a bit different because the color isn't the same though! First picture is the sample, second is me at my first fitting with straps but the straps will be hidden and just used if needed during the reception.

The staff at the bridal store really can make a huge difference. I didn't like any of the dresses at one of the other places I went to, but I highly suspect it was because they were just really bad at clipping so everything looked awkward on me, whereas at the salon I purchased from they made everything I tried on look like it fit nearly perfectly and I had a much harder time deciding!

This is a great post! Left pic is me in the sample and right pic is my first fitting.....you can see where it didn't fit at first, she ordered it a size up and I hated how it looked but once she took in the waist I felt MUCH better haha

Left is sample, right is mine. Mine actually is too big here .... they measured me with my clothes on, then told me I was between sizes. When my dress came in, it was clear I should have ordered the smaller size. Oh well.

Anyhow, the sample was like 3 sizes too small, and mine looks and feels much much much better.

Haven't gotten mine altered yet but just wanted to say all these dresses are amazing!!

I posted this because the sample was a size 10 and I'm between a 2-4. I wanted to see how different the dresses look when they're altered to fit the body. For example, that's me on the left in the size 10. And on the right is a girl I found online who has the same dress, but fitted. Obviously the dress will have to be hemmed and the bust taken in to look anything like the girl on the rights lol

I dont' have photos of me in my dress yet, but here's some of me in a sample 3 sizes too small, and in one at another salon that was the right size. In the too-small sample, you can see how it pulls across the hips and is too short at the bottom. Aside from that, it gave a pretty accurate idea of the look.
