Dedicated August 2018

Registry/macys

Does anyone else get sad when someone buys something off the registry not for sale. Macy's has crazy sales all the time! I had glasses that were on there and half the time they were $100 a set and half the time they were $39.99 a set. Someone just bought two sets for full price.

Debating trying to go to the store to return them and then rebuy them at the lower price. Has anyone done that? Do you just get store credit or would the amount be returned to the person?

It's a gift, if they wanna pay full price there's nothing much you can do! Just take the gift lol

Many couples return gifts bought at full price and re-buy on sale. You could get the credit and then could use the money towards something else you need. It does not get returned to the individual who purchased them.

Hah, I have to hope most people know to hold out for sales (tbh most of what has been purchased off my registry has been from 1 aunt who is crazy about sales, so she nabs stuff every time it dips super cheap)
THAT said, bear in mind that most of the one when people are shopping off a registry, theyre
more focused on price point than the gift itself— usually they start with the dollar amount they want to spend and then pick what they like best in that price range, so, they don’t care too much about getting the very best deal on the item.

(Haha THAT said, I hope no one spends $60 on a bath mat for me. I put I on there on sale without realizing how stupid the actual cost is 🤣)

If you return it you would get what they paid for it in the form of a gift card.
