About how many months out is average to create a registry?

ETA: is it the same when registering online vs. in store?

It's good to have it finished when you send out the invitations. That's usually when I start looking/think about what I want to get the couple, particularly if I have to decline the invitation.

We made ours about 7 months out since I was having an early bridal shower when visiting my family out of state. I'd say the more time the better, since it takes longer than you'd think to really figure out what you want and need. We started with the essentials and will add more items as people fulfill the essential registry items.

I started our registry online but personally, I liked going into the store so I could physically see it and know if I liked it. Some of the things I registered for online looked a lot different in the store than a website. To me, it was worth taking a couple of hours to go to stores and register. (We mainly registered at Target.)

I'm working on mine now, 11 months out. I realize that some things will be discontinued over the course of the next year but I'll deal with that as it comes.

I'm actually really surprised how difficult it is to find things to put on the registry.

I made ours about 9 months out and just add things as I come up with them.

Depends on if you're doing a shower. We did not have a shower and did our registry about 3 months in advance. We had everything finalized before invitations as that's when I normally start looking at other couples.

I loved going in store to see everything, especially if you are adding any kind of flatware, glasses, dinnerware, bedding, or towels. My husband and I liked different flatware sets when we looked; we found out by holding it in store that one looked nice but was uncomfortable. Once we had determined the things that we wanted to try in store and added as appropriate, we added and filled in from online.

Not sure what's average either just find mine late week and the Wedding is in the end of March. Did it on Amazon they have a very wide range of items, just make sure you check the reviews on the items before you add them.

I'm just over 4 months away from my wedding (got engaged in October). I'm just now starting all of it. Wedding venue is all inclusive down to the BMs bouquets and cake. All I really have is registry, attire, and centerpieces (and the favors).

I'm considering not doing a traditional registry and having more like a honeymoon fund type of deal...or book the honeymoon and have a registry people can put money towards extra activities like dinners or I've personally seen money towards an island zip line excursion. We've lived together for over 4 years and pretty much all of our stuff was bought brand new over our first two years so making a registry seems really stupid to us. But I've been wondering that too I guess for a honeymoon it wouldn't be until the trip was booked?

I was hoping to have mine done in time for Christmas. My family thought it would be helpful for Christmas shopping. Didn't happen though. We're going to go soon. I want to get started in store and then we have plenty of time to edit it.

    ETA: Shower is in July
