really stupid question: I have two GM that are out of town...

Jennifer, on January 21, 2011 at 11:28 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

I tried searching from past threads, but couldnt find anything.

FH's brother lives out of town and so does my dad and we need them to wear tuxes.

We are going with Mens Warehouse.

Do they just go into a store near their house, get their measurements and the store sends those measurements to the store we will pick the tuxedos up from?

how far out do they need to get this done?

wedding is June 4th.

is there anything else I need to condier when doing this?

should FH and I go into a store and pick out what we want, or go online?

thanks ladies!

Yes, they can go to any Men's Wearhouse throughout the country to get measured and place the order.

Personally, especially with something like my wedding, I would prefer to go into the store and see it in person if possible. I've been looking at things online for ideas but I've mostly made my final decisions based on seeing things in person. My that is the way I am with most things, so I think it's just a personal preference.

Yes they go to a nearest store that store takes their measurements and that store sends then to your store. They have to pick up their tuxes at your store and you can have one person or them bring them back to that store the very next day. We just had our BM do cause we were out that next day at our hotel/ and had to return our rental car.

They can go to the nearest Men's warehouse to be fitted. First the groom must be fitted and select a tux... pt the $40 deposit down and they will ask for the names of all the men need tux's they will provide you with a code that you can give the guys... they need to bring that code with them when they try the tux's on...

Yup...go to the nearest one, and pick out what you want (definitely do it in store)...I would actually think through what area people will be staying in and order the tuxes from the store nearest to that. We did mens wearhouse too (im also a denver girl, as I believe you are) and ordered from the park meadows one..but it would have made much more sense to order from one on the west side of denver, since thats where a lot of the wedding stuff went on.

Anyways, then the guys go into their menswearhouse store whereever they live and get measureed. When they get to the area, the week of they will have to pick up their tux at the store you ordered them from.

Awww I feel your pain! My husband was in deployment and my brother is in another state. I was freaking out but men wearhouse only need one week to get their tuxes done. So his best man and my brother got measured at nearest men wearhouse a week before, men tend to do it last minute. My husband did it right after deployment when I visited him two weeks before wedding. His tux was supposed to be in Seattle but it was accidentally shipped to Louisiana! Since we had time, he was able to get it the day before wedding. Just make sure the groomsmen can pick it up or you guys pick it up by nearest men wearhouse. It can be transferred. But it must be turned in the day after the wedding. Good luck!

I've known of one guy who was standing in a wedding and he didn't get fitted or anything and just got the tux on the day of the wedding- i'd been upset, if someone did that to me. But he managed to get a tux at Men's Wearhouse They allowed us 2 days to return the tuxes, being we were having a destination wedding, and with how we were traveling etc. They didn't give us a hard time about it at all.

I haven't noticed a reply on the time-frame, so here's my suggestion. Smiley winking The MW we're using gave us a time frame to be fitted and place the final order and when to pick up. Our wedding is 4/9 and they suggested we come in to size, etc in March, and orders must be placed by March 26th I believe. Though, this is for renting the pants/vest/shirt/tie. I think you should probably give them a call and get your BP all figured out, that way anyone in the BP can look you guys up in MW and know exactly what to get, and MW can give you a time frame you need to order. Hope this helps!
