Post wedding blues... Am I the only one?

MrsN, on October 8, 2015 at 11:34 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 14

Now that the high is ebbing, I am torn between moments of sheer joy when I think about it, and then complete sadness it's over. Am I the only one? DH and I have been together almost 9 years so this was a long time coming and we are super happy to be married but I am feeling the sting of no more planning lol. Anyone else?

I have a little bit..but luckily the holidays are coming up and then my daughter's 1st birthday so planning for all those things have now ensued. Im truly happy to be married to my best friend and the wedding stuff in the back room needs to go! I was actually approached to help plan someone elses wedding next year so that will take up some of my free time in the next few months too!

I loved planning. But I'm definitely keeping busy- writing thank yous, cooking more with all my new kitchen stuff, learning how to play guitar... And my MOH is getting married so I've gone off the deep end planning her bachelorette party. I sent out a powerpoint last week comparing the different VIP packages at various bars. Also, I'm thinking about volunteering to be a wedding assistant at my church.

Yes! I felt this too, it was like coming down from an amazing high...with everything being so beautiful, happy, lively, friends, family all around...

For me, it lasted a couple days, but when I got home and back to work, the focus shifted there. I think it will be helpful if you find something to be equally as excited about or continue to see friends and plan things together...especially with the holidays coming up, and you will snap out of the funk.

I'm trying to help that by working on project around my house that have been neglected due to the wedding and having a halloween party.

I think the biggest reason I have had this is honestly I LOVE planning things and also even though my wedding went great I'm a total perfectionist and there are like 3 things that I wish I had done differently and they are driving me nuts! I honestly think I will feel so much better when I get my pictures back and can stop stressing about them.

I am! My wedding planning was very stressful with MIL and FIL ... right up through rehearsal dinner. I barely slept the night before wedding stressing about in laws and even though my wedding was amazing and beautiful, I feel cheated. I felt cheated out of my wedding week by them. I didn't enjoy the frenzy yet excitement leading up to the wedding due to their negativity and bossiness. The day was amazing and perfect but I wish I had those moments back.

Luckily, we planned our honeymoon for November! Now 4 weeks away and I am so glad becuase we have something else to look forward to

I am going to dive into work and make tons of money lol! VM it's only been a week for me so I'm still fresh lol and we also didn't get a honeymoon. Can't afford one for a while. ::sigh::

I do too! I felt like it flew by, I was devastated by the weather on our wedding forcing us to hold our ceremony inside. The in laws drove me crazy the whole reception and I was just glad I got to get out on our dance floor the little time that I did. It just felt like the whole day I was being pulled in a million directions and it was hard to really just enjoy ourselves for some of it. Now that more and more people have posted photos I get to enjoy it again but I'm sad it's over. I just think I need more time to grieve the wedding I thought I would have versus what I experienced, it was great, I had a blast, and everyone told me how much fun they had, but stuff still went wrong and that's what I'm having the most trouble coping with. I think once we go in our honeymoon next week we will feel much better!

I feel kind of like dizzle. I love planning things, I like the research and everything that goes with it. I loved having My family in town, and miss them like crazy. We also didn't have a honeymoon, so it was back to everyday life the next day which sucked. He can't have anymore kids, so I don't even have the upcoming baby to plan for Smiley sad I need to find money and something else to plan quick.

I felt a little down too! Once we sent off our out-of-town family and guests, there were still some post-wedding tasks. With all the momentum from planning, we finished them within half a day, and just kinda stared at each other and said "What now?"

But work has picked up quickly, and we're now back to our normal routine. Also there will be the holidays to plan for soon, which should be pretty fun Smiley smile .

I feel this coming on for me.

My wedding is next Saturday (Yay!), and now that most things are done and I don't have a whole lot to do, I feel a little void.

We Are moving in December, so I'll have re decorating and moving to keep me busy.

I told FH about the post wedding blues, he looked at me like I was crazy! lol
