Mine was I didn't keep track of who I sent Save the Dates to. I was so excited to get them out, but I'm disorganized and have ADD so it was a slipshod process. When it came time to send the invitations, I had a whole method in place so I wouldn't repeat the mistake!

Way underbudgeting service charges. They're way more than I expected. Take whatever you have to spend on catering, floral, rentals, and set 25-30% aside for fees.

Nicole S. What are some of the reasons to not choose your bridal party too early? ...I might have done this myself haha

Not mistakes but have definitely had to catch myself a few times. Keeping dates in line and remembering when the small things are (cake tasting, alterations, vendor meetings). My wedding is coming up and keeping all these last minute things straight is a lot.

I made the wedding programs early and we had to switch officiants last minute... complete waste of time and supplies! Wait longer for diy's that have any possibility of changing last minute!

@Beecham yassss totally agree 100% about not sharing with FILs.. I got so upset multiple times because they kept comparing our plans to a wedding they went to for their good friend's daughter which apparently was like the perfect wedding of the century and now ours can never live up according their standards

Asking my bridal party way too early! I didn’t know any better at the time, and I asked them right away after we announced our engagement. There hasn’t been any particular drama, but I’m just not that close to one of the people I asked anymore. It was also pretty awkward since I asked her so long ago I had to go back and sort of re-ask her. “So…umm…we hardly hang out anymore but you’re still in the wedding, right?” If I had waited until 6-ish months out like I should have, I could have avoided all of that.

Asking by bridal party before even setting the date (we got engaged on dec/2015, but set the date on oct/16). It ended up being a longer engagement due to saving for the wedding and my job being secured. I have 5 of the initial 6 BM, which im super happy with, but it would have saved me some headache it if done later.

Buying decor too soon and without confirming how it will be put up or who will put it up. Most of the items i bought im using. However i bought a bunch of string lights that somehow i thought would magically get hung up from a 20ft + ceiling in the venue. My DOC charges design services for more elaborate stuff like that which is like an extra $2k. I def dont need that since im designing my own style and I would just need them to put those up, which definitely isnt worth that much. Less elaborate setup is included in DOC services which is what i was ultimately looking for. I wont be using those lights unfortunately and its money wasted.

Ordered rsvps on a postcard that couldn't be written on very easily with a pen. I put the options to mark on the photo side instead of the side that's meant to be written on. It was only like an extra $30 to redo them but still.

If you pick things out in advance, think it through. I had picked out an invite I lived early on, but then when I went to edit them I realized I couldn't fit what I needed to on them. I bad to quickly scramble to find something and felt pressured to order quickly.

I didn't include my Fiancè and I in the the final count... thankfully it was just adding two people so they allowed us to fix it. I blame bridal brain!

For me it's been not listening to my gut in decisions. I wanted a white dress and was talked into the light ivory and have regretted not getting white white ever since.

We booked a venue quickly without considering our day of timeline. We have access to the place at 5 but that means guests can't enter till 7 when set-up is complete. We didn't factor this in, smh

I sent out save the dates that I had edited from boarding pass invites and accidentally left RSVP info on there without thinking. So it's been slightly confusing for some people, and some people thought those were the actual invitations though those are yet to go out. Oh well. Live and learn!

My biggest mistake so far.....we booked our venue (we were having a combined ceremony/reception and then shutterfly had a 50% off sale. Since the venue was booked I ordered our invitations. Then we toured a beautiful church and decided to move the ceremony. So I'm out $45.00 for thr invitations I ordered.
