NWR: Have any of you ladies tried hot yoga?

I took my very first class 2 days ago and HOLY CRAP! I am so sore and can barely move, lol. But I honestly enjoyed it. Do any of you do hot yoga on a regular basis and did it tone/make you lose weight?

    I tried it for a few weeks, overwhelmed but felt fantastic after, super energy high. but i have a heart condition and being overheated is not good so my doctor scolded me and i had to stop. its not much of a weight loss option as its more detox thru sweat, which is water weight, and strengthen core muscles. but with diet and time it can help.

    I can't imagine being in a really h to room with a bunch of other sweaty people, but maybe that's just me....

    Yes! I love it! I currently go between 2-4 times per week. Technically my studio is "warm yoga" (room heated to 90 degrees) which I guess is slightly less hot. But it's a great workout!! I'm noticing a lot of changes in my muscle toning. And although I sweat profusely, I don't really notice the heat anymore (if that makes any sense lol). It's great!

    I'm with Celia on this one. I recently went to the sauna one day after swimming and I couldn't even deal.

    I loved hot yoga! I need to start up again now that my gym is offering it but I was going weekly for a while this past winter and it was great! It kind of upped the ante on what you take out of a typical yoga class.

    I've never been but I've been curious. Does the heat make it easier to do the yoga moves? How intense is the yoga itself?

    I used to do it all the time when I lived in a different city and had a great studio to go to. It was awesome. You need to drink water, and a lot of it.

    Are you doing hot yoga or Bikram? I did Bikram for about a month and lost a decent amount of weight! (Although it could have been that I was too hot to eat after... (: ) It was really nice in the winter but I had trouble sticking with it once it got hot. I did love it though, I noticed a big increase in flexibility and it did increase weight loss. Just make sure to drink more water than you think you need!!
