Not Wedding Related but Vegas Question

Paige, on July 12, 2016 at 2:22 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 26

We are planning a couples trip this October with some friends to Vegas. We found a really good deal on the Luxor hotel. Has anyone every stayed there before? I have only been to Vegas once a few years ago and stayed at the Bellagio which was really nice but pretty expensive. I didn't get to venture to the South end of the strip to the Luxor when I was there, so I didn't get to see it. Would anyone recommend? Thank you so much for your help!

I stayed at the Luxor with some friends last year. It was nice, and the taco bar down in the lobby was probably my favorite part of the trip. ^_^

I have never stayed there. Usually I stayed just off the strip at a place called the Tuscany suites. We like it cuz it is close to walk to the strip but not nearly as expensive.

I haven't stayed there. My favorite place to stay off the strip is Red Rock. I haven't been there in a few years though.

I've stayed. The hotel is decent. My only complaint was the distance from the center of everything. I've stayed at the Bellagio as well and loved the location.

Luxor is close to Mandalay Bay, and I love the restaurants and bars there.

I have stayed at the Luxor and it was nothing spectacular, but it was a place to sleep for us that wasn't as expensive as other options. The one downside for us, as another posted said, was that it is so far down from the center of the strip.

My FH is actually staying there this week for a conference. He said he was surprised it wasn't as nice as he thought it would be. He said it was nothing special and probably would not stay there again if he goes back.

I stayed there no it's not the Venetian (stayed there too) it's not spectacular but baby your in Vegas it's still great!! When I went they were just re doing their rugs in the casino so I'm sure they were renovating at the time. I loved the restaurant we went to eat at that was right there in the hotel. Regardless the hotel is not the important part Vegas has so much that your hotel is just where you sleep. Take comfy shoes as you do a ton of walking. October is a great time to go in my opinion it wasn't hot or cold just perfect walking weather.

I stayed there but it was awhile ago. We actually stayed in the pyramid part of it. It was cool but I don't remember much!

My favorite Vegas hotel is the Venetian. If you are trying to save money, I would go with the Mirage, Caesars or or even Treasure Island over the Luxor because they are in better locations.

The Luxor is ok. Nothing special but ok. Personally I always try to stay closer to the center of the Strip though for ease of getting around on foot.

I just went last week and stayed at the Venetian. It was nice, but I think next time we go we will stay at Mandalay Bay. That place was beautiful.

I haven't stayed there, but I've been to the hotel before. Only thing is that it's not close to the main parts of the strip. I have stayed at a lot of different ones on the strip and the ones with the best locations are the Mirage, Harrahs, Flamingo, and Caesar's. Flamingo and Harrahs are cheap too. We LOVED Cosmopolitan but is usually pretty expensive, but we got a great deal on it! Monte Carlo is also pretty good and has a super nice pool area- just a little down the strip but not too far. Mirage is probably one of my favorites Smiley smile

DH has stayed there and doesn't like it. It seemed like a sad casino when I walked through it. I have stayed at Mandalay bay which is right next door and it is far from the center of the strip as pp have said.

I've never stayed but I've walked through it and wasn't impressed. I'm going in August and staying at the Flamingo. I always stay there because it's a great location, nice rooms and the prices are usually decent!

When we got to vegas we worry most about how clean and comfortable the rooms are going to be. If you are anything like us, when you're in Vegas you hardly ever see your room because you're so busy doing other thing. It's mostly a place to come back and crash.

I've been to the Luxor, but we didn't stay. I thought it was pretty neat myself.

I've never stayed there but I went inside and it looks pretty neat, the layout is cool. I've been to Vegas twice and my favorite hotel was Hard Rock. We stayed in one of the newer towers and it was AWESOME. Not crowded because it's off the strip. If I might put in a piece of advice for going to Vegas, RENT A CAR. Every single hotel/casino has a parking garage and they're free. you can experience so much more of Vegas with a car, and the traffic really isn't that bad, the lights are just super long.

That place is terrible. I stayed there when I was in my early twenties. There are so many better places to stay and there are always deals. I'd even stay in a hotel Timeshare before staying there again. It also depends on what you enjoy doing. If you're going for the pool party life, relaxation, gambling...so I would definitely not stay there.

I usually stay next door at Excalibur. But Luxor seems nice too. I don't mind the walk to the middle of the strip for the money saved.

I wouldn't recommend it. I've never stayed there, but haven't heard good reviews on it. And it's far from the main strip. I like the Venetian and the Bellagio the best. If you get a room facing the fountains they pipe the music in the room during the show. If you have time, I would visit Red Rock Canyon, it's very pretty.

Late response but I live here so thought I'd help, I'd avoid it. Not that great and dead to entertainment. MGM, Mandalay Bay, mirage, Monte Carlo, even the linq has better updates and atmosphere. If your looking for a deal, try the linq, updates rooms, smaller hotel, but it's right on "The Linq" which is like a strip on the strip lol, right next to the high roller which is the huge observation wheel and that area is like the hotspot recently. If you are looking for good deal plus party central hot MGM, best night club, dining and day pool, plus they have updated their rooms recently
