So one of my bridesmaids is graduating from cosmetology school next month (so she’ll actually be professional) and she offered to do my hair and makeup for the wedding, as well as for the other bridesmaids, which I was thrilled about.
My only issue is, she lives in another state and the soonest she’d be coming to visit is March, if at all (wedding is in June). I trust her to do a great job with my hair because I don’t want anything particularly complicated done, and her specialty in cosmetology school is hair.
But with the makeup, I tend to be very picky about makeup (how it looks, and especially what type of makeup is used—I have very acne-prone skin and have only found one foundation ever that doesn’t make it break out more). I’m nervous about committing to using her for my makeup when I have to wait so long to have a trial.
My mom’s friend is also a professional makeup artist—she’s actually the one who introduced me to the one foundation that doesn’t make my skin breakout. We would have to pay her to do it (because it is her job) but it may rest my concerns because she lives close by and I could do a trial with her whenever, plus it would make getting ready the morning of the wedding even quicker (my bridesmaid could be working on the other girls’ hair and I could be getting my makeup done at the same time).
This is mostly just me trying to sort out my thoughts lol, thanks to anyone who read this far! What do y’all think... do I just ask my mom’s friend to do it, do I wait until I see my friend in March? And if I decide to have my mom’s friend do it, should I have her do makeup for the other girls too? Would it be weird to have her come just to do mine?
